They don’t understand that to compete with Amazon they have to be different from Amazon. Running a business that is a more expensive clone of Amazon is absolutely guaranteed to fail at some point in the next decade or so. As Amazon eats your volume your marginal costs go up and you die.
You are not wrong. The problem with Amazon is sizing with clothing. Brick and Mortar retailers give you the chance to try the item on. If some one wants something quickly, Amazon may not be a good option. Also, Amazon has been very unreliable with their shipping. I must have had half-a-dozen items arrive well after the date they said the product would arrive. I had one that was over 2 weeks late. That doesn't work well when it is a Christmas present. Other times, I will see the estimated delivery date before I place the order. I select to buy and the delivery date changes. I had a few items that never arrived and they canceled the order. A lot of their shit is from China, so supply chain issues can screw things up.
True on all counts and that is why Target and Wal Mart will be just fine. But selling specialty stuff that is usually not necessarily an immediate need is a tough business to survive in. These clowns will see market share tick down little by little and one day will wake up and realize they have become Sears.
I got a pretty nice Gerber multitool there on sale for like $30 around 15 to 20 years ago. After over ten years of abuse, I snapped the flat head off it around the time they started doing something I thought was bullshit so I didn't go back to get a new one. I got one similar somewhere else. They've gotten more crazy over the years, so I don't regret blowing an entire day off looking for a replacement somewhere else as opposed to them.
We drove an extra 160 miles round trip to get an exercise bike for my at the time 90 year old dad.
When I decide a business doesn't deserve my cash, then that's that!!!
BTW, NFL? MLB? MLS? From me alone, you're out a combined 60-75 tickets at the moment, along with the beer, hot dogs, pop corn, parking, and fandom jersey and cap purchase.
Plus I've weaned two of my three sons off of their pro sports habit--now we watch college only. And that also means my grandkids will have a chance at avoiding indoctrination to pro sports.
I can't bankrupt you alone. But I can give you some paper cuts.
(I told my wife NO LAND of LAKES! She bought some of their butter anyway. I threw it out in the yard. Now she listens.)
The only thing that pisses me off is that they're back to requiring workers to wear masks--at least in the four stores I frequent. (And I do FREQUENT Academy! Disc golf...soccer...softball...flag football...fishing...hunting...)
Stopped shopping there before that as they have a long history of wokeness, they are on their way out. Unfortunately, their CEO made a bunch of money in the process but he is scum like salesforce's CEO.
Dicks stopped selling firearms altogether at my local store. Renamed their "Field and Srream" to something else. (Not sure what. I stopped going there after the ar15 bit). Of course, they waited till after Christmas to do it. No one shops at this location except for firearms, ammo, and hunting supplies. They'll be dead by this time next year.
The DNC platform is literally killing the innocent and defenseless, letting free murderers and pedophiles, and disarming civilians while giving guns to criminals. There is no debate or civility with them. There is no "middle ground" with such demonic evil. I know what needs to be done. You know what needs to be done. The question is, when will someone do it? How much longer do we have?
100% corporate greed. It's cheaper to pay for an abortion and keep the employee working than to lose an employee to maternity leave, train someone new, etc.
I've always enjoyed not shopping there. I often honk has I drive past them on my way somewhere else. It's the little things that make you happy, you know?
Academy is one of the few places I shop. Their ammo limits could be a drawback but I’ve never seen them rigorously enforced other than the summer of love. They seem pretty legit.
hey i stopped shopping there because of that! good times.
Same here. I thought their shit was overpriced anyway.

You are correct.

And then merge with K-Mart!
LMAO

Dickless sporting goods more like
"Man-Made Vagina Sporting Goods"
Dick's is in a hurry to Bed Bath $ Beyond themselves
they probably cut theirs off a while ago, store will soon rename to inclusive goods.
I haven’t bought a fucking thing from dicks since then. How are they still in business?
Academy's is where it's at
Texas here and love Academy.
The only thing that pisses me off is that they're back to requiring workers to wear masks--at least in the four stores I frequent. (And I do FREQUENT Academy! Disc golf...soccer...softball...flag football...fishing...hunting...)
I don't know how they are still in business. The two that were in the local area shut down several years ago.
Stopped shopping there before that as they have a long history of wokeness, they are on their way out. Unfortunately, their CEO made a bunch of money in the process but he is scum like salesforce's CEO.
Nope. Never again. They joined the woke cult.
Clown world is so tiring sometimes...

Biden "I did that" stickers should be repurposed into a Dick's "We sponsor abortions" and be slapped on their entryways.
Every time I see one, I point and remark "hey look, pussy's!" or "dick and no balls."
Plus, the even better thing is to use dicks to price match with academy bc academy will beat it by 5%.

haven't steped foot in that shit hole in 10 years......hey dick's ask bed bath and beyond how that worked out for them
100% corporate greed. It's cheaper to pay for an abortion and keep the employee working than to lose an employee to maternity leave, train someone new, etc.
I saw a sign in Sequim, WA gun dealer, "We sell AR-15s because we aren't DICKS"
no one shops at little dicks, fuck them and their soy infused virtue signaling
I've always enjoyed not shopping there. I often honk has I drive past them on my way somewhere else. It's the little things that make you happy, you know?
What a bunch of Dicks.
Didn't they start it at least last year? Their collection socks. Haven't been there in years. Their female CEO is a fake fraud.
Note, I really don't understand how these losers keep their faces straight when they talked about these garbage
How to use the democrats playbook against them: “Cut off Dicks”…….sporting goods
Haven't walked in the store in 5 years and that use to my playground to spend extra cash
Never bought one thing in that shithole and my dad regretted the one set of golf clubs he got cause of their gun stance.
Cause well…. They’re dicks
Anybody got an in on Academy Sports and Outdoors? What skeletons, hopefully few, are in their closet?
