Just a guess - not a scientist by any means here - but aren't they vaccinating the chickens so they can be killed off by disease, blood clots, etc prior to the slaughterhouse?

This reads as a strategy to lower the available meat supply to drive prices through the stratosphere so normal folks cannot afford food and are forced to eat bugs, fake meat, and bill gates eggs.

I would also imagine that the chickens will be infertile similar to the women missing periods, sharp increase in stillborns, vaccinated men with erectile dysfunction, etc, etc.

I hope they haven't developed some special heat resistant version.

One question on the destruction: for the degradation resistant types that could be ingested, when it is destroyed are significant amounts of degraded RNA still going to survive past the stomach? As in the RNA may be dysfunctional and cannot make the coded protein, but still might trigger innate immune responses and cytokine storm from the remaining RNA. This is a minor concern compared to producing a spike or injecting mRNA that has a chance at genome incorporation, but I feel it's best to be ultra paranoid!

In Florida (and some other states), there were "rumors" that the government would cover you if you culled your flock or buried your crop during covid. Those "rumors" came true. I remember the pictures of entire crops just bulldozed, pigs stacked like a historical massacre or one of those pioneer day "hunts". We can talk about the details but essentially, yeah... that happend. Obviously not everyone did that for various reasons but that's one of the ways in which it can happen. Essentially, those people got paid for a crop and allowed to keep their fertilizer for next year. It really upset me and it was a particularly low blow for me because knowing this and having seen the pictures, I went through the next 3 months of no meat on shelves (which dipshits will deny to their dying day cuz hurr durr their supermarket was fully stocked and they never saw any shortages; spoiler alert: half the population had no idea the great depression was happening either) but denying reality doesn't change it.

And for those who don't know how these dirty deeds get done, best start learnin' folks. People "gambled" and won. Kind of like an antifa riot where they hint there won't be prosecution; you risk the time but more often than not, it pays off.

New chicken tender, got our first ones last April. Out of eight sexed chicks, one was a cockerel. He was a beautiful, friendly dark Brahma, but we rehomed him because he was crowing all day. It's not illegal to have a rooster in our suburb, and I was just waiting for a noise complaint that would endanger our whole flock with the left wing city we're in. I'm very sad when we got rid of him, and as soon as we move to the country, I'm going to have a huge flock of locally hatched heritage birds, and enough roosters to keep the barnyard mixes coming.

It's not a secret. You google "heritage breeds" and go from there. Chances are you won't drive 5 hours go get some mega rare breed you'll kill on your first try. You'll most likely watch a few youtubes, go to a couple forums and read a bit about ups and downs of each breed, and find something that speaks to you. You'll pick something kinda practical and within 3 hours of yourself. Then you'll get in touch with some people, speak to them, maybe they'll give you a tour, and you'll buy something from them. It might be more than you want but... just be prepared and don't deal with shady people; however, you give respect where it's due and understand you're all trying to do something that's not commercial. There are some heritage breeds you can even get from big seller distributors. Women love having a million different colored eggs so in my experience about 30-50% of women end up with a hodgepodge of different breeds. But you'll have to be a bit more selective. You might end up with a breed that's a combo of everything but not the best at anything (very healthy, ok egglayer, ok meat, ok parenting, some color variety).

It's kind of like fish-keeping, to be honest, you kind of end up doing what the people in your area have already established. Or you can get half an acre, enclose it, get and train a couple farm-dogs and do your own thing. But I'd recommend starting with something like ... rhode island red or something like that (cheap, commercial, mix of everything not the best at anything) to test out your setup and chops. It's not heritage but you'll know if you want to sink the time and money. And if you decide it's not for you, you know... chicken nuggets lol. You can PM me any questions you have, I'm kind of a noob but I'll answer to the best of my abilities.

Oh, and one last thing ... you'll find this on forums but I'll just tell you now and save you some headache: ORPINGTON. They are the BEST mothers and you want to enculturate them with the orpington culture even if you keep heritage breeds. It's a bit of a chicken-and-egg scenario tho because it takes about 2-3 generations of natural hen-raising to get the crazy out of chicks. The red light which you NEED when starting from scratch messes with their psychology idk how to explain it more succinctly. Orpingtons are a bit fragile as chicks so you need to lamp them very carefully, keep them very clean, give them a nice enclosure, give them the vitamin water. Once you have adult orpingtons, the gene-instincts kick in and they're good. But even they will have some "quirks" (it takes about 2-3 generations of hen-raising to get them back to an ideal state and you have to be very careful about creating a proper culture in your roost the whole time). You really can't mess up RI Reds tho ... lamp, pet shavings, vitamin water ... then you can let them raise you an orpington, and let that orpington raise your heritage breeds and once you get enough breeders, you can kind of let them do their thing by themselves. But you can do it your way too; it's not rocket science, just sharing what I learned the hard way - up to you. Chickens are perhaps the easiest farm animal to get into because you do VERY well with 5, 6, 10 chickens (one rooster). And ... gruesome but I'll just tell you now too, chickens have a BIG genetic variation which results in messed up offspring (comparable to humans actually ... mind blown, right?) so many of your males will not be uh ... suitable roosters. You'll have to get good at spotting which ones have potential and eat the rest. Again, you can take a fuck it, LeNaTUrE approach and that's okay too but lol, you've been told.

Oh, and hey, let me know if you decide you want to get into it. You don't have to go heritage breed to have something. You can just have chickens and you'll already be way ahead of the curve. You can tell by the length of my post, sometimes I make a dramatic statement and I can't encompass all the details - it's more for entertainment with a bit of what I consider the essential truth. It's not like omg all ur chickenz will Be TAinTEd if you don't get an obscure hipster heritage breed and live in a bubble in a valley only accessible 3 months out of the year by 4 day mule journey lol. You get a couple chickens and you can already have your very own little ecosystem that, if you're careful, you can keep from the outside world all to yourself. Now, even then, you can't escape the NEED for friends to give you genetic diversity but if you get into it, people like me will help you out at least with knowledge.
