Rush covered that when Trump was elected. Imagine you win an election and suddenly you have to fill hundreds of government positions. No one knows that many good people. So you rely on the party. Hopefully he'll be better prepared next time.

EZPZ. You eliminate the job and the agency. Then you don't surround yourself with assholes while simultaneously saving tax payers money.

Who should I put as head of the FBI? Hmm... Fucking nobody, gone. NSA? Gone. CIA? Gone. DHS? Gone. FEMA? Gone. They do fuck all anyway. Education? Gone. States get to decide. Transportation? Gone. Let the states figure it out. ICE? Deputize every single person who owns land within 5 miles of Mexico. Put one of them in charge. Give them guns and fire at will commands.

See, easy stuff.

The irony just struck me. Dems and swampy rinos owe so many favors by the time they're in office, they have to make up titles out of thin air just so there will be enough to go around.

Trump gets in there, and because he didn't owe enough people favors he was short handed and unwittingly left a vacuum for swamp rats to fill.

We need to shut some shit down and let some people go. Like massive downsizing and layoffs. But we also have to do something about the inevitable vacuum to prevent more bullshit from sliding right back into the gap.

Further, there are a lot of shit stains who will recognize the threat to their standard of living. And just like in 2016 go full nuclear retard fighting it tooth and nail. They have to be stripped of power and rendered impotent before we can cutt off pay days and show them the door.

The constitution stands in the way of what you’re suggesting. Congress creates the departments, the president just fills the seats, and to suggest that a president can just defund and liquidate departments is just as unlikely as a president being able to create new ones that control the old ones.

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 7 ▼
– PrincipledPsychopath 7 points 90 days ago +7 / -0

This is correct as far as it goes. However, there are very plausible arguments that there is no constitutional authority for many of the executive agencies, and that the president's duty to "take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed" requires him to leave any such agencies unstaffed.

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 1 ▼
– gunteh 1 point 89 days ago +1 / -0

Constitutional authority for Congress to create/fund departments is not really contentious, at least legally, although institutions like the FBI are far more questionable because they were started by a department and not by a bill written in.

Unfortunately, I still believe this is something Congress would need to debate, not the president, just based on the fact that’s it’s easier for the deep state to assassinate one person then it is to assassinate a majority of the legislative branch.

Congress creates the departments

Okay, just curious, which constitutional amendments were passed to create "the departments"? What legislation was passed?

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 1 ▼
– gunteh 1 point 90 days ago +1 / -0

Article II, Section 2, Clause 2:

He shall have Power, by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, to make Treaties, provided two thirds of the Senators present concur; and he shall nominate, and by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, shall appoint Ambassadors, other public Ministers and Consuls, Judges of the supreme Court, and all other Officers of the United States, whose Appointments are not herein otherwise provided for, and which shall be established by Law: but the Congress may by Law vest the Appointment of such inferior Officers, as they think proper, in the President alone, in the Courts of Law, or in the Heads of Departments

Short answer: Congress passes bills that creates departments and the president is explicitly given the power to nominate to the head of that department.

Long answer: The Founders then put their belief in the intent of the law into practice by signing bills authorizing the creation of numerous departments, such as the treasury and Office of the Attorney General (oddly enough, the FBI was created as a sub-department under the Office of Attorney General in 1908, so that’s a notable exception to the normal course of department creation but then the funding matter is still under Congressional control).

So a president can’t just sign an executive order liquidating an entire department of its power, or defunding any department that’s been a authorized by Congress.

Leaving the top slot empty isn't enough, the next rung down the ladder will continue as normal. If you don't have someone you can trust to reign them in, you have to gut the bureaucracy so it can no longer function independently. Whenever he wants to, Ron can choose to unite everyone so everyone focuses on 2024 elections, regaining the WH and helping Trumps mission to Save America succeed instead of fighting each other.

All Ron needs to do is hold a Press Conference where he formally endorses President Trump and urges all Americans to unite so that together we can Save America for everyone, including the still demented haters.

Hopefully Ron will choose to emulate Kari Lake and JD Vance rather than continuing to align with Paul Ryan and Rupert Murdoch.

Trump a picture purporting to be of Ron drinking with some teenage girls. Trump says "that's not Ron, is it? Ron would never do anything like thst!" == "Trump himself has implied DeSantis is a pedophile".

What a " totally pathetic" Trump smearing reaction. Ron fans undermine Ron when they act like cry bullies and parrot TDS tier drivel

If DeSantis doesn't run, then OP's comment helps DeSantis. If DeSantis does run against Trump, then OP's comment helps Trump. Both of these are good things.

Most of them are just pissed that their freedoms are on the chopping block now. They were fine when it was conservatives getting THEIR rights decimated.

All those disaffected liberals voted for what we have now, and they'd do it again. Once we 'get their votes', they'll do the same thing they always do: destroy from within.

permalink parent save report block reply

– Dictator_Bob 3 points 90 days ago +3 / -0

I don't think so. I think disaffected liberals are shell shocked and being forced to choose between their core values and the leftist/neoliberal core values. The Clinton campaign was weaponized to attack progressives. Then the leftists were moved in to mop up.

When I talk to disaffected liberals they have already or would consider voting for President Trump. They are deeply concerned spiritually or at least vehemently dislike child grooming. When I talk to people who still consider themselves "liberal" they are too far gone.

You can dislike the nature of politics. There's truth there and you should hold to your convictions. Right now, politically, the tent needs to be and according to the President will be expanded. This is going to include a lot of changed minds and hearts. I intend to work to shore up that effort and solidify an gains we can make.

Fair point.

Robert Barnes speculated that Trump is schmoozing Lindsey Graham, so he can solidify his chances in the South Carolina GOP primary. (which is extremely important)

*Nikki Haley was previously the Gov of SC, so Trump wants to have backers from that state.

Are you a retard? DeSantis has been asked numerous times if he's running. He won't say no. That's political speak for yes in this situation. All he has to say is "no if Trump's running I back him 100%". Done. No division and the establishment can fuck off. That's what he would do if he weren't a snake. The fact he hasn't done that tells you what's going on. You're an idiot if you needed me to tell you this.

I posted a response to someone else:

Robert Barnes speculated: South Carolina is a critical state in the GOP Primaries. Therefore, Trump is schmoozing Graham to counter Nikki Haley's influence in that state. (She used to be Gov of South Carolina)

*This is all speculation, but it makes the most sense IMO

And the Romney endorsement? And the McCarthy endorsement? And the Ronna McDaniels endorsement?

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ -3 ▼
– flopperdog -3 points 90 days ago +1 / -4

The Romney endorsement was a big mistake (like endorsing McCain)

*The McCarthy and McDaniels endorsements are different. McCarthy was likely going to win no matter what. (Same with McDaniel because the people who vote for GOP chair are establishment pricks)

*The benefit to being "friendly" with McCarthy and McDaniel are that they both are in politics for themselves, and can be bullied/persuaded to do good things. (Whereas Paul Ryan believes in things, but the things he believes in are evil)

*Darren Beattie explained this point a couple weeks ago.

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 3 ▼
– BidenSniffsLittleKid 3 points 90 days ago +5 / -2

Oh you mean like McDaniel demanding a loyalty pledge? These endorsements are going to work out as well as his Paul Ryan/ John McCain endorsements

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ -2 ▼
– flopperdog -2 points 90 days ago +1 / -3

There's a difference:

*It was uncertain whether Romney/McCain would be elected. (So it's bad Trump endorsed them)

*However, it was inevitable that McCarthy and McDaniel would be elected. (So Trump's endorsement didn't change anything, but he gained some influence over them)

*This is the best explanation I have. But judging by your snarky responses, I'm pretty sure I'm wasting my time talking to you.

Yes you were lied to but by GWP (shocker). The other source is right that this is just for show and nothing meaningful has really happened to disney. The government already had this power and could have stopped disney at any time from doing things, so this does nothing except formalize that relationship like a typical RINO sternly worded letter.

The governor’s office said the bill will end Disney’s ability to: build airports, nuclear facilities, toll roads, boundary changes to their property, award noncompetitive construction contracts, and more.

Whoop dee doo.

Special tax district was left unchanged. Nothing happened to disney. This is a nothingburger.

Serious question:

Why is everyone so scared of a primary between Trump and DeSantis. It would be a good thing. Let's be honest we can all see which way the political winds are blowing and DeSantis is a strong governor. The number of people in this thread who are so shook at the idea of DeSantis running against Trump. Are you so unsure that Trump can't defeat DeSantis that you'd rather him just get a free pass? Here is the thing, if Trump can't beat DeSantis in a primary than what makes you think he will win in the general?

A primary will allow for the best candidate to come out on top. I hear you saying "BuT dESaNtIs Is A RiNo", no he isn't and if Trump is the best candidate and the fighter we all know he is he should walk off with the win in the primary? He can win even if the establishment doesn't want him to because, again, the establishment has never liked Trump yet he still does whatever he wants so if you really think the GOP establishment can stop Trump then, as I said before, he has no chance of winning in the general.

This site is infiltrated, to be sure. As a result, there are very obvious attempts to divide the Trump base… although Trump isn’t a huge fan of Desantis, he is a fan of his accomplishments and happy to call Florida his home.

No matter who gets the gop approval to run for president, they will either have to be on the Soros, Rothschild, 3 letter approval list to win… and of course, they’ll have to overcome ballot harvesting and absentee ballots. Trump has enough votes to win… if the election is at least fair or even almost fair.

I also think that DeSantis brings good politics to the table and will have his time, but that's for the future.

From my impartial viewpoint it has been very noticeable that there have been a lot of shills on this board looking to run the usual divide and conquer campaign. You made your disruptive attempts too obvious and this affirmation of the Disney bill will hopefully see you off.
