I missed out on my families naming conventions. Didn't know til after I was done having kids. Historically, they would take a maiden name of a past female relative and assign it as a middle name of the first born male. Pretty cool results. My Dad's MI is Kinson, his dad's, Spaulding. If the pattern wasn't broken on me my middle name would have been Kearney.
