Idaho Senate Passes Bill to Repeal Ban on Private Militias - The New American
The Idaho Senate approved a bill that would repeal a state law banning private militias and paramilitary organizations. The current law that would be supplanted by the measure under consideration forbids “a body of men,” other than the National Guard, to “...
How incredibly Unconstitutional. How did this ever take place
Seriously?
In current year, something this completely unconstitutional surprises you?
At this point, I'm happy to see at least some small movement back toward actual Constitutional governance.
There isn't a person alive now, or likely in the past 100 years that has lived under the Constitutional Republic our Founders intended.
1861 was when the Federal Republic dissolved and Lincoln adopted a national government.
I don't seem to recall the specific Amendment that was ratified to cause this.
Bingo. It's up to the states now to get back to the document that means the most to maintaining a free functioning state. A militia is necessary for the maintenance of a free state (that beautiful end to 2A). Our founding father's weren't wrong.
The 2A was designed to make it legal for citizens to arm themselves at their own expense with the weapons they were required to muster with when called upon to form a Militia. This was first used 5 months after the Second Amendment was ratified when the Militia Acts of 1792 were passed.
"That every citizen, so enrolled and notified, shall, within six months thereafter, provide himself with a good musket or firelock, a sufficient bayonet and belt, two spare flints, and a knapsack, a pouch, with a box therein, to contain not less than twenty four cartridges, suited to the bore of his musket or firelock, each cartridge to contain a proper quantity of powder and ball; or with a good rifle, knapsack, shot-pouch, and powder-horn, twenty balls suited to the bore of his rifle, and a quarter of a pound of powder; and shall appear so armed, accoutred and provided, when called out to exercise or into service, except, that when called out on company days to exercise only, he may appear without a knapsack."

This is why the Second amendment absolutely guarantees the right of individual citizens to keep and bear MILITARY GRADE weapons, AKA "arms".
It's just incredibly irritating to hear the would-be tyrants explain that the 2nd Amendment wasn't supposed to cover "military style" weapons. That's exactly what it guarantees, it never mentions self defense or deer hunting as the goal.
(Those were just assumed to be so obvious that they didn't need calling out... And here we are.)
I always like to point out that it also doesn't specify "firearms" but rather "arms." This means all arms are protected, not just guns. Restrictions on owning or carrying blades longer than a certain number of inches are actually a violation of your second amendment rights too.
Absolutely that as well.
Having courts rule that we can keep pieces of our rights - well, maybe for self defense in your own home? - is as unconstitutional as the self-serving politicians who are always ready to sacrifice our rights for their power.
The Founders had no idea just how far the government would overreach and how domesticated the US populace would be to allow it.
God bless the preservation of such rights and for the shepherds with the courage to exercise such rights.
oddest part is that ifaho full of militias. noone cared or gave a shit about that faggot law.
Ikr!
So true
Sarcasm and irony on so many levels.
The law in question has been place in its current form since 2002.
have to agree, too many conservatives just whine do nothing. they think just voting fixes problems. and it never does. our country became corrupt fucking mess full of injustice, corruption and totalitarianism.
Haven't looked it up but there were a number of events involving the FBI attacking and murdering militia members from the early 70's onward. People think militias largely ended because of Oklahoma City bombing, but the feds had been infiltrating and Wacoing militia members for decades before that happened in an effort to cement federal power.
If I were to venture a guess this law as probably because of that PATCON shit.
Now there's a rabbit hole every pede should take the time to explore.
It’s always the feds, man, fucking always.

It's worse than entrapment or even shady tactics to "catch the bad guys". They ARE the terrorists. They're constantly building bombs and attacking infrastructure and thr power grids every single day. They're looking for scape goats to cover it up and if you try to blow the whistle they'll publicly kill you in broad daylight execution style.
Can't find the link but they did exactly that in grand rapids michigan. Multiple agents assassinated the man trying to expose the Feds in the fake "Whitmer kidnapping" in a steakhouse parking lot. He was unarmed and they shot him in the back. They even hit eachother in the crossfire.
They're so above the law they'll even shoot cops. https://www.fox17online.com/2016/12/06/man-arrested-when-he-shoots-at-police
Yeah, no, you've been misinformed.
The agent who wins a round of "blow the whistle" gets bukkaked, not executed.
Give me a lead.
The law is damn near 100 years old, if I had a guess it was a response to the second KKK
The Constitution was only created for a moral and religious people.
From John Adams to Massachusetts Militia, 11 October 1798
Fuck 'im ;)
Jefferson all the way.
At least you didn’t say Hamilton.
Emissary of ... ahem ... Foreign Powers.
Fuck that guy hard.
I think Jefferson would have agreed to that Adams statement, which btw, is also attributed to other Founders (Madison, etc.) as well. And I consider those other attributions to also be correct in that I think they were all saying this.
With that said, yes, Jefferson and Adams were lifetime rivals.
What did this guy say??
If you think this is bad, I have some worse news; They technically already banned the 2nd amendment.
18 U.S. Code § 2385 - Advocating overthrow of Government
Whoever knowingly or willfully advocates, abets, advises, or teaches the duty, necessity, desirability, or propriety of overthrowing or destroying the government of the United States or the government of any State, Territory, District or Possession thereof, or the government of any political subdivision therein, by force or violence, or by the assassination of any officer of any such government; or
Whoever, with intent to cause the overthrow or destruction of any such government, prints, publishes, edits, issues, circulates, sells, distributes, or publicly displays any written or printed matter advocating, advising, or teaching the duty, necessity, desirability, or propriety of overthrowing or destroying any government in the United States by force or violence, or attempts to do so; or
Whoever organizes or helps or attempts to organize any society, group, or assembly of persons who teach, advocate, or encourage the overthrow or destruction of any such government by force or violence; or becomes or is a member of, or affiliates with, any such society, group, or assembly of persons, knowing the purposes thereof—
Shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than twenty years, or both, and shall be ineligible for employment by the United States or any department or agency thereof, for the five years next following his conviction.
If two or more persons conspire to commit any offense named in this section, each shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than twenty years, or both, and shall be ineligible for employment by the United States or any department or agency thereof, for the five years next following his conviction.
As used in this section, the terms “organizes” and “organize”, with respect to any society, group, or assembly of persons, include the recruiting of new members, the forming of new units, and the regrouping or expansion of existing clubs, classes, and other units of such society, group, or assembly of persons.
Yes, you are correct. The US Constitution supercedes any bs they try and pass when no one is looking.
My point was they do things like this and hardly anyone ever knows until it's too late.
Unfortunately the military (which also is unconstitutional) will enforce these unconstitutional violations, meaning they cannot be relied on to protect our freedoms.
True, however the Bruen decision essentially now states laws must take into account historical tradition. And the tradition is that the 2nd Amendment exists to overthrow tyrants. Thus, any laws against overthrow are unconstitutional.
Of course, the only thing that truly matters is who wins. Everything else is academic.
Does that mean you intend to just continue bending over so Biden can have his way with you while he picks your pocket?
The Declaration of Independence is not the Constitution.
the Declaration of Independence beg to differ w/ those Leftist/rino Fks as it outlines our Rights and duty to overthrow the gov. when they are corrupt
You just can't do it with the sole suggestion being violence. But once you start calling for violence I think violence would be your response to the very entity you want abolished when they come knocking to arrest you.
That's overthrowing the government.
Replacing specific members of the government (even through violence), while keeping the government itself wholly intact, is an entirely different matter.
...who am I kidding? We live in a clown world where building Lego models of government buildings is an act of insurrection.
history are written by the victor ... like how the left are twisting history if we won the war its the leftist/traitors on the end of the rope hung for Treason against America
That's exactly why if this ever gets started, it must be with the attitude of "victory or death". There couldn't be another instance of everyone immediately retreating and yelling "glowies!" as soon as the establishmentarians clutch their pearls.
After all, nobody can enforce tyrannical laws if they're not breathing. Which is why war is so effective in the first place.
When you change the meanings of words. You can do whatever you want! Constitution, Constipution
I agree with getting rid of it. I do not agree with the notion that its up to them to say if we can or can't organize. The law should have never exsisted.
Agree. Just wait until western Oregon becomes part of Idaho. Could get interesting.
I don't see how people still think this will happen. Redrawing State lines ultimately has to be voted on and approved by the US Senate. I highly doubt they would approve it.
It's literally in the Constitution. So you're saying you don't believe in the Constitution either? Come on.
Go back to Reddit.
I've heard of a group in Northern Oregon and Southern Washington wanting to make their own state. Seem very little people living there actually want to be in Oregon
The framers failed to take into account (not that they could have foreseen it) the massive urbanization that occurred with the Industrial Revolution.
So we end up with folks living in our vast rural areas being ruled over by urbanites who hate them. Clearly a flaw in the system we’ve set up, which was more suited to a time when people in the countryside outnumbered those in the cities.
Thats the hole point - they arent represented. The king saying "i hear you but were going to go another direction and make you ____" isnt representation. Thats essentialyl what Seattle and Portland areas do to the rest of the state.
You miss what secede can mean.
Let the counties assert themselves. Follow Idaho law.
/r/Idaho is insane talking about "oh yeah? well if they repeal this law maybe antifa needs to walk down the streets of the capital"
It wont.
The minute men were descendants of private militias. The king allowed and condoned them in the colonies until they started to threaten him. Private militias and home guards existed in the US for a long time, some were even formally recognized by the Union and given pensions after the Civil War for their service. They started to decline as urbanization and "civilization" of the frontier increased.
They were mainly drinking clubs and they went away because the north stopped caring about marksmanship and the south went hard on temperance + militia groups evolved into the KKK then were outlawed
Clearly against the first amendment
No One Is Coming It's Up To Us.
The only things we can rely on is our faith in God and the strength of our brothers.
Fed Shills circling the wagons in 3…2…1…
Get to know EVERYONE in your group very well, and if something feels off... separate them into a subgroup that only does basic training and no planning or leadership. These groups will be crawling with feds. Be on the lookout for people who got in some kind of legal trouble and somehow narrowly escaped a conviction, and people who went off radar inexplicably, or carry multiple phones, etc.
"Woah, woah, Mr. Notafed. Who said anything about blowing up Government buildings? This is a fitness club. We get together and work on our fitness. Yeah, we do have a fitness drill called Breaching. Pie'ing off doors and upper torso leans really hit those core muscles, man."
I mean.. those are also lessons you can get at any tactical shooting course.
Sir. A tactical shooting course doesn't focus on fitness. It also doesn't break people into fitness squads and keep them training together. A tactical shooting course doesn't make sure those fitness squads have people who specialize in different fitness routines so they can cross train each other. In fitness.
Please tell me you've caught on. I'm not going to say "fitness program" is code for "militia."
Indeed.
Now that is based.
True but it's also a giant bullseye for feds to show up like moths at a campfire. Might as well just ban feds from entering with any authority, would do more in reality.
The people up here (Montana) know how to handle this and have been doing so for awhile.
Tip: any group over 3-4 people is a fed honeypot we set up. We moved to cell structures back in the 1990s and haven't really changed. Some people were sad about it that we didn't have big BBQs anymore but those people wanted to drink beer and LARP.
It is useful to note that people were able to rally 1000+ patriots with armor, NODs, and rifles to CDA when antifa came knocking, all without anything but 3 person cells and phone/text trees. Antifa was completely taken by surprise as their government handlers only thought a couple cells were coming.
Also, cell structures don't prevent infiltration, it assumes it and seeks to limit the damage.
Read up on "cell structure organizations" as the Communists have been using it. Commie books are good on this subject.
You can start a cell literally today. Just meet regularly with 2 people you trust, at work or neighbors, discuss the issues of the day. You can meet with other groups of 2, but never more than 3, and don't mix group A and group B. Make plans of action, and decide to execute on them or not.
Idaho......let's go!
🍻
You cant ban militia's, they are in the 2nd amendment.
yes
And half the members will be fed fuck bois...
Thats why you get to know your neighbors....
Feds trying to convince feds to blow up a fed bldg with fake dynamite
kek
Hello Greater Idaho.
We don’t need your fucking permission for a private militia fed fags
It is a state law not federal.
You don’t need state permission either it’s an inalienable right
FYI Idaho is currently crawling with fbi agents.
They're everywhere.
Unconstitutional to begin with.
Senator Dan Foreman (R-Moscow)
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
LMFAO REALLY? I can't believe Moscow Idaho is based.
the 2nd doesnt GAF about this bullshit.
Keep an eye on Idaho. We'll be seeing false flag fag ops there soon.
commies say we cant defend ourselves. KEK
Wait, what? What's a private militia? Isn't that just a militia? How was there ever a ban?
I'd have to believe that 'private militias' don't give two shits about what this or that Senate would have to say. That's the whole idea of a militia.
The team that doesn't score any points does not win the game.
Greater Idaho.
Never had the right to ban them in the first place.
They probably repealed it just so the elites will be able to have a private army for when shit hits the fan.
This should have never happened in the first place, we missed a lot of warning signs, now here we are..
Wow. A government affirming our local rights? That’s a step in the right direction.
Idaho is turning out to be an attractive place to live
A ban on private militias is unconstitutional. Read your 2A!
ANTIFA will call themselves a militia.
Awww yeahhhh
A step towards fortifying the states against the coming civil war.
A good start.
Lol
I guess they can see what's coming down the road
There was an even stronger bill that sadly got supplanted here. It would have removed the ban on local governments funding and running militias.
Baby steps.
