Needless to say, me mentioning that restaurants cater to the people who are likely to walk through the door, and it makes no sense to pay out of pocket to provide a dish that maybe only one person a week tops might order. This is typically when you start realizing that there's a lot of overlap in the vegan community with the socialist/communist/anarchist community, so their understanding of basic economic realities is suspect at best. They also don't really have an answer when you ask them what happens to the millions upon millions of domesticated animals we have for use, if they'd magically get their way and we no longer 'exploit' animals; they don't answer because deep down they know those animals would just be exterminated, because in a world where animal products no longer have value, those herds would instantly become massive financial liabilities, so even if they get what they want, all they'd end up doing is committing genocide on like a dozen different species simultaneously.

It can me ameliorated by careful washing of fruits and veggies but there is still a risk. Plants do not absorb pathogens through their roots that would harm people as far as I know.

A ripe tomato is okay but, stems leaves and green ones are not. Also be careful of mushrooms and only allow in small portions. Corn cobs can also cause intestinal blockage. Corn also has almost no nutritional value for dogs. Just so you know.
