Startups often gets huge cash influxes and spend it over a year or two so traditional banks give them trouble. Traditional banks also rarely give startups loans, but SVB specialized in doing just that. They lend with more understanding of how startups eventually make money, clear payments faster when big banks would flag it as potential fraud, ect.

No, the other banks didn't make the same mistake. The mistake SVB made is a mistake a reasonably smart guy in finance would not have made, such as a white guy with above average IQ. They mismanaged their exposure to interest rates, likely because they were greedy for better returns or worse, driven by D&I measures.
The mistake SVB made is something taught in 300-400 level university finance courses. Anyone could have seen it coming if they were paying enough attention.
Essentially, SVB had high quantities of short-term variable rate liabilities and they matched these liabilities with fixed rate long-term assets which is literally the worst thing you can do. When interest rates increase, the value of long-term fixed rate assets decreases significantly and the value of short-term liabilities increases by a small amount (which hurts the equity portion of the balance sheet significantly and this is what banks base their ability to lend off of) but also now in terms of actual cash-flow, the bank has an increasing amount of short-term liabilities it must meet with cash-flow from their long-term assets that haven't adjusted upward at all because the assets are at a fixed rate. The only way to meet the short-term liabilities then becomes selling the long-term assets which then cements in the loss.
You want to match short-term variable liabilities with short-term variable assets to manage your interest rate risk but doing so reduces the profitability of the bank so they likely simply got greedy.

Just to start, if there's a 40% chance a business owner kills themselves it's pretty damn hard for an investment into that business to be profitable.

I suspect the issue is, though, very much the same as a whole lot of large corporations - is that these banks likely have been infiltrated by people who are friendly to "the cause" and have made their way into positions of authority that can make the decisions to give money to these people.
