That was a commitment I made to my kids when they were younger, and it cost me about $15 over the years they were in HS.
My mid-twenties daughter sent me an e-mail claiming she'd found another typo.
She's independent, and gets another five bucks.

Funny that you should say that I am an old man a voracious reader of 60 years and I see typos often
I'm getting there as well. Old enough to remember "Ebonics"
What do you call the Ebonics Toys “R” Us?
We “B” Toys
And Shit.
N' Shit
N' Shiet.
I was reading books solo at 5 years old, as well as my Sons.
i really used to enjoy reading the paper until it became a shit show.
Books are my last bit of refuge (and prepping) in this clown world.
Damn! If a 5 year old you can read as well as your adult sons...
The comma doesn't really help clarify. "As well as my sons" could mean "my sons when they were 5" but it could also mean "as well as my sons read currently." "And my sons could, too." Is more accurate and can't be misunderstood.
He said reading, not writing.
yea, i'm lazy and use voice when i can and it don't clean up purdy
Oh my sides Senior Pede!
Enjoy a sense of humor before it is outlawed.
Another good one!
Eventually Ebonics became English
.......Spanglish enters the chat
I seem to come across the infamous published typo more often when reading literature published within the last 5-10 years
true
A ton of authors spell "all right," "alright." That should be an easy one to find.
That's the funny thing about English. It's rules are very gray....er...grey
I had to Google than one not too long ago. Having it be acceptable to use both was somehow a disappointment to me
Book editors have gotten lazy over the years. I find typos all the time, and correct them in the books I read.
If it was post titles here and you only gave me a nickel each, i could quit my job
This is genius
Typos are quite common.
Tapas*
But in printed books, espacially in classp rumes...
Smary for comment
"I had to stop after paying out 6-figures one year when my son found out Sociology Journals exist."
Brilliant sir!
I was taught to write a list as such: thing one, thing 2, and thing three.
It is no longer proper to use the third comma.....why?
That’s called an Oxford comma, it’s a question of style whether you use it or not. Either way is correct.
Love it!
I’ve always thought I should be a proofreader, I find typos in books ALL THE TIME.
You would go broke if they read the "kindle only" books
Casslic.
I find typos in books everyday you'd be poor now.
This works great until your kids learn about websites dedicated to book errata.
Never let them read a book by Roger Stone.
For $25+ read “Christian Nationalism” by Andrew Torba
Fake news doesn't use copy editors anymore. They are too busy cramming it full of so much nonsensical bullshit that a copy editor would be counter productive. You figure they would at least run a spell check before uploading but not even that.
