Getting treatment is life changing and doctors at one time tried their hardest to get people to not mutilate themselves with chemicals and surgeries.
Diagnosing children with GD was virtually unheard of until recently. The thought process was children were not mentally able to perceive the potential lifelong consequences of GD treatment. Today we live in clown world. . . and it is much different. I would venture to say that still have the GD diagnosis as a requirement but they hand it out to anyone. . . .
