I’m an AWS “certified developer.” My personal opinion is “serverless architecture” just moves complexity from the application level to the platform level and promotes even deeper vendor lock-in. But there’s a lot of money to be made for consultants doing cloud migrations, stupid as it is.

Oracle is trying to get into the cloud provider space. I wouldn’t trust them any more than the rest.
My advice when building a new service is to keep it cloud agnostic! No using the fancy proprietary services like lambda, dynamodb, etc. you should be able to run in any environment, including your own dedicated boxen if you have to.
Side note: S3 has become somewhat of a standard, and there are non AWS solutions (including on prem) that are compatible, so that one is doable 😀

As a consultant this is absolutely correct. We don't solve problems. We refactor them and make bank. I feel like a lawyer sometimes, LOL.
