And attorney Michael Cohen said he paid Stormy the money himself, with money he secretly/quietly took out a separate loan for! That Trump never knew about at the time!
The most recent comparison is Hillary paying Perkins Coie, with campaign money, to fund the writing of the Steele dossier, labeling it as legal fees, not admitting it until it was discovered in the Russiagate investigation, then only paying a fine for a misdemeanor.
The best comparison may be the John Edwards case, though. He received “gifts” from donors, then used the “gifts” to pay off his pregnant mistress. Unlike Trump’s case, the DOJ actually pursued charges and still couldn’t get a conviction because it couldn’t be proven the payout was intended to benefit the campaign, as opposed to hiding it from his wife.
In Trump’s case, if I understand correctly, it wasn’t even campaign money that was used. Cohen used money from his legal retainer and, as far as I know, hasn’t provided any proof that Trump directed him to pay Daniels off. He just said “take care of it”, according to Cohen’s earlier testimony.
There’s also the fact that Trump has had to pay numerous people off over the years, long before he ever ran for president. It makes it even harder than in the Edwards case for them to argue that it was expressly intended to benefit the campaign.
I’m still not fully clear on this “anything you spend personal money on that could be perceived as benefitting the campaign must be reported as campaign expenses” thing. Is that even written in the law? In his monologue last night, Carlson claimed that it’s not and the argument really only arose as the DOJ’s justification for prosecuting Edwards.
If this is the case, it seems like a pretty relevant fact to share with anyone we’re trying to explain the situation to.

The big problem with Cohen is that you can't believe anything he's said in the past or even says today. There's a reason why so many people call him "convicted liar Michael Cohen" and anything he says now, you can probably find old footage where he says something to the contrary. It doesn't even matter where he is. He'll lie on camera if there's a camera in front of him. So, given all that, what makes anyone think he'd be truthful on paper as if that's where he'd draw the line on lying?
I think this is one of the reasons why Avenatti said that the more you look in to this, the worse the case gets. Anything you have that hinges on Cohen just isn't credible at all.
The irony is that all of these "minorities" are only finding themselves in a position of power because it's being given to them by rich old white men who are using them and will then throw them away.
Not to put too fine a point on it, but it's important to note -- Hillary's people used Bleachbit to irretrievably wipe the contents of a private email server, created to hide her solicitation donations of millions of dollars WHILE SERVING AS THE SECRETARY OF STATE. Hillary Clinton was literally taking bribes while in office. Add to this rotating through "burner" phones, she and her assistants personally smashing hard drives with hammers, etc. and it's difficult to imagine a more blatant, obvious, cut-and-dry example of corruption with ample evidence.
Then the Hunter Biden's "Laptop from Hell" leaked.
She admitted that the affair didnt happen.
This wasnt hush money, it was "go the fuck away and take your POS extortionist lawyer with you" money.

Hillary had A LOT of people murdered.
Pedo Joe molested A LOT of children.
Why go for the PG fruit when the R rated stuff is just a few more rungs up?
A white guy films a "murder" (Ahmaud Arbery) - gets life.
Blacks film murders/assaults and laugh - nothing.

Why are we adopting the left's language yet again? It was a non-disclosure agreement, not hush payment.
Or that having his net worth drop by ~2 billion counts as "enriching himself".
Yea...if I've learned anything over the last decade it's that Justice isn't real and evil always wins.
Didn't Hillary just pay a fine for the Steele Dossier the other day?
just going on a hunch here...
Pelosi isn't the only one conducting insider trading. It seems more like a right of passage on both sides of the aisle.
Then set up commissions to investigate all politicians, and use the standard they hold for Trump, Stone et al for them.
What is good for the goose is good for the gander.
That congressional fund that pays off accusers... might it be a good place to start, if only there were "equal application of the law"? I think so.
Exactly, they say "equal", then make it equal.
Extortion. It was an extortion payment. Not Hush money because Trump didn't have sex with the porn star.
