Nobody who paid a shit ton into social fucking security should have to work until 70 years old to get some of it back.

As someone who is paying into Social Security and will likely not see any of it I would just like to be reimbursed for what I have paid and to invest it

Shit, I’d be content if they just stopped stealing it so I had 10-15 years to do get any gains. I fully expect every cent withheld throughout my entire career will amount to zero benefit to me.

Glad I’ve planned and saved for my retirement with zero expectation of receiving SS.

An "opt out" option would be nice. I can't imagine a scenario where that would play out, though.

Perhaps if the SS fund wasn't used as a piggy bank for government spending that has nothing to do with the concept of the "safety net"... Still unlikely.

We can dream though.

I attempted to opt out years ago. I still have the rejection letter. It basically said that no one can quit the program.

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 9 ▼
– sorrytodisagree 9 points 66 days ago +9 / -0

You can quit. You just have to be homeless and unemployed. They catch you making any undeclared income and it's prison labor for you.

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 2 ▼
– HegelianDichotomy 2 points 66 days ago +2 / -0

Or I can join a parallel economy. Commodities are still easy to trade. The state already wants me to suffer, I'm not going to do it voluntarily.

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 4 ▼
– sorrytodisagree 4 points 66 days ago +4 / -0

I suppose you could possibly thread a loophole of getting just enough cash for some of your commodities to pay property tax while staying under the income filing limit. State sales tax could still be a problem depending on the state. Even doing everything right the taxman only needs to make one wrong assumption or "honest mistake" to ruin you with tax liens and legal bills. They'd certainly prefer a cautionary tale to a success story.

Social Security needs to end. It's a ponzi scheme the government uses to keep you poorer when you're younger and then dangles over your head as you get older so you vote the way you're supposed to.

Yet another doozy FDR fucked over the nation with.

The 2 presidents who got us into World Wars both were hell bent on controlling the people.

Wilson with his massive tax increases and first time personal taxes were implemented and he decreased tariffs in order to tax citizens. Then he started the Federal Reserve.

FDR just was a white crippled Obama who wanted to make sure people had NO power at all.

FDR wanted it to be invested in the stock market to help business. Congress was to terrified of it at the time. And FDR really didn't give a shit, it was at the time just something to throw out in front of voters to say they are doing something about seniors in poverty.

Then why didn't he prosecute any of the hardcore fascists who plotted a coup against him? Look up the Business Plot.

He worked with Mussolini and praised his leadership style and policies. Both Germany and Italy got almost all their policies from Wilson and FDR. FDR protected Nazis running camps after military liberation in North Africa. Said he didn't want the Jews to get out and start voting again. Those are facts from his presidential library and the Congressional record.

Fascism and communism were both backed by American progressives. They're just different experiments in evil statism.

Bickering over the color of his uniform doesn't change the fact he was a leftist tyrant.

In the US, I consider every gov't employee to be a lifetime welfare recipient.

They produce almost nothing of value, yet get paid by the taxpayers for their whole career and retirement. That's 7 decades of handouts.

This was never supposed to happen, but that's why almost all gov't employees vote Democrat; they know they'll always protect their Praetorian Guard.

▲ 2 ▼
– Vallum 2 points 66 days ago +2 / -0

Well, not exactly. French demographics have been declining since the 1750s. France was by far the most populated European country at that time (about 30M), and people started having less babies to build some wealth. The revolutions and wars did not help of course, but the rising feminism of the 20th century completely nuked births from orbit. So we started importing people, and now France is about 20 to 30% African (racial statistics are forbidden but it’s visually about 50% of classrooms, so…).

And now the big cities entirely operate with African labour (all construction workers, deliveries, sanitation, education, child services, essential services, most of police, etc.). I’m obviously against immigration, that’s how I got interested in Trump back in 2016. But the fact is, without it, France would not run right now. And since they make poor workers overall, quality is degrading quickly, so I expect most infrastructure will crumble over the next 20 years. The complex stuff, like nuclear reactors, we already cannot maintain anymore. The rest will follow.

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 3 ▼
– remembercovfefe 3 points 66 days ago +4 / -1

That last comment about the nuclear reactors... I think that will be the undoing of western society. Schooling is becoming mediocre for Westerners even at the highest levels (big focus on feelings/diversity etc) and a lot of technical work (my experience is in backend infrastructure ranging from telecommunications to oil and transport) is being contracted out and built by, quite bluntly, incompetents.

Anyway, I wonder when we will reach the point that our complex and critical infrastructure cannot be supported by our knowledge base anymore, and we will begin the long decline into massive shortages, outages, brownouts, blackouts etc.

Maybe we are already there?

Governments have been trying to reform the system for 30 years or so but every time people go on strike and the government backtracks.

In France, people expect the government to fix everything but they never want to give up anything for it...

If I work until sixty five I get a check monthly for $X.

If I go out i'm disability right now my monthly check is $500 MORE than if I work SEVERAL more years until 65.

Now you see exactly why those on disability are growing and growing and growing. The entire system is literally rigged against those showing up for work.

It looks like people just stacked a shit load of wood and stuff in the front gate entrance and lit it.

It doesn't look like much is burning, except maybe the paint on the big iron doors.

The thing burning is just a gate entrance in front of the Bordeaux City Hall. That thing is built like a fort, it seems.

I wonder why government officials in guillotine land build their offices like a fort?

It looks like it could have been even pre-revolutionary times. Even before the French Revolution they would have the occasional local peasent revolt that would get squashed.

It could have even been a palace of some local nobility who wanted some added projection.

Look at all of the castles in Germany and other parts of Europe. That's how the few really rich people lived.

I can't tell from this video, are they really French or are they the Arab/Muslim invaders? Last time the "French" were doing this the videos showed a bunch of brown people.

Eventually, we need to stop fearing death.

Especially death by obese faggots.

Ridiculous! Why burn down 100+ year old national monuments and priceless artifacts when the politicians causing the pain have houses, and friends and family with houses? Burning down government buildings does absolutely nothing.

This is french culture. Every 10 years or so, they burn a bunch of stuff in protest. It's what makes the cheese and wine so great.

I think one of the most amazing things about this site is you will see something, think "there is no way that is real", go searching for it online only to find out "Yep, the French are absolutely burning down a portion of a 250 year old building

I don't see why they are burning such a nice building. The building isn't the problem - it's the people inside the building who are the problem.

NOTICE who is not reporting about France. There are protests all over the EU too. Not a peep from your favorite news purveyors and pundits. Stop being abused.
