You can take tons of it. There are papers on taking NAC and Glycine together to improve health and longevity. The doses were quite high, working out to over 1 gram per 10 kg body weight per day. So, if you are a typical 150 lb (70 kg adult), you can easily take up to 7 grams a day or more. The thing that is most limiting is the number of pills.

NAC works well with a high protein meal, plus other oxidants. ALA (or better yet r-ALA) with a high carb meal and antioxidants.

I was taking 600mg once a day, with food, and it messed up my digestive track and gave massive headaches. I am probably allergic to it.
