Sans serif block font chosen to reinforce the rigidity of their ideology is ironically at odds with the heart, a universal symbol of love and compassion, which I assume they added the subtle soft gradient to in a sophomoric 00's graphic design treatment attempt in order to try to balance the already terrible contrast..
Typographically lazy, poor composition with the heart.
Would have been much more successful with a softer serif font un undercase and a well balanced composition.
All excellent points. Everything just looks so, well, out of place. Looks like it was an afterthought and just shoved in the car with no good reason as to why it’s extends out for lack of a better word from the square the text is in.
The old logo was simple, unobtrusive, yet noticeable, if you saw on wearing it, and a T-shirt, even outside of New York.
NYC has so many fucking artists it's sick. $1,000 prize would have gotten enough entries to find something good, especially since computer graphics are so easy now.
