The problem from what I have been able to find is that, the oil we have cant be refined here in the states.
Furthermore they will never allow another refinery to be built to handle it, or approve the permits needed to modify a current one, thous we are forced to sell the local oil we can't refine and buy oil we can refine from abroad.
