They assume some dumfuq will buy them as soon as interest rates drop 0.5%. The $800k new homes around me are selling like hot cakes. No idea who can afford them.
The Parkway Chevrolet dealership at the junction of SH249 and the Grand Parkway tollroad in Tomball, TX, is wall-to-wall, literally the entire lot, filled with identical, white pickups. It's very visible and obvious as one takes the southbound interchange bridge between the two tollroads (look on Googlemaps, you'll see).
No other cars or colors. Just acres of white pickups. I was actually a bit uncomfortable and disconcerted by it. I wondered WTF and I'm now relieved to hear I'm not being weird or paranoid for noticing. Pattern recognition is my strong suit, I guess.
White is the go to color for fleet vehicles, look at themnup close I bet they are all the basic package with no frills. If they are all the utility companies buy then and use them for fleets.
I drive through there at least once a month, and they've always been a retail location with a variety of cars. But not this time: the entire lot was nothing but identical white pickups.
And no—I don't do the Q shit. I don't have patience for their dumb-ass oblique questions. If they've got something to say, they should just fucking say it and quit playing games.
Uh, you think a $40k price tag for a truck is still fair? I’d like these companies to get real and learn we all can’t afford to keep shelling out $400-$600 a month for trucks PLUS insurance AND gas.
I'd guess that since it seems every day we hear one of the car manufacturers is ending this or that line of gas fueled models, and replacing them with electrics, they know that the excess inventory of gas fueled trucks will get sold off at full price soon enough.
Private companies are getting hit just as hard as we are. The only fleet sales they’re likely to make right now will be to government agencies, and evidently they’re not buying either.
Have you seen the fleets parked around or just snidely implying my post is conspiracy theory with you ???? The first hand reports out of Europe about concentration camps were greeted with the same skepticism. Why are hundreds of thousands of new trucks parked all over yet they are priced 30 to 40k over list? It doesn't seem like there is any urgency to sell them. Why?
Never even considered the connection until reading your post. . . With everything else that has happened in the past few years it seems like the most logical answer really. . . lest we forget the forced lockdowns - - fema camps etc etc. . . you have to have vehicles for your forces. . . if they started lining up military vehicles everywhere it would raise a lot of red flags. . . but trucks? HA, no one will notice. "There is a chip shortage. . . they are over-priced etc etc"
People call me a doomer. . . I see myself as a realist. . . batting well over .500 and I am for sure going to be giving your idea a lot of thought. . . you either understand whats going on is going to happen or well your fucked. . .
This is where I go what some may see as super doomer although I believe it is a good thing. I believe we are living through end-time prophecy of the Bible. . . I don't think we will get to the point of pure blood sperm banks. . .
If I am wrong though which I very well could be, your idea will make a lot of money. . . Luckly for us our sperm is the only sperm that will end up working to get pregnant. . . and only the unvaxxed woman will be able to bear children. . .
No, no snide implications nor have I seen fleets parked. (I am not in the market for a vehicle.) I was just asking for more information because I don't know anything about this.
I've got a Ram Dealership up the road loaded with hundreds of truck at a small rural dealership. Two towns over a bigger Ford dealer has hundreds pf F150s 250s and 350s in stock and priced 30k over list.
If they didn’t cost as much as a Ferrari they’d be off the lot
So again why no sales to push them out of inventory?
They assume some dumfuq will buy them as soon as interest rates drop 0.5%. The $800k new homes around me are selling like hot cakes. No idea who can afford them.
Corrosion is the only invasion those poor bastards are going to want to worry about. Nobody can buy a $80k fucking truck in Biden's America.
So drop them to the recommended list price to move them. That's what had always worked in the past.
With inflation being what it is, they’ll lose money at list price. They’re still calculating which is worse, excessive inventory or selling at a loss.

I was thinking the same thing which might also mean fleet sales are tanking if they are sitting on a dealer lot in mass.
And in some industries, white pickups are associated with higher status. You are "the man". If you are issued a colored truck, you groan inwardly.
I wasn't a Quartermaster but I can see logistical inventory when I see it.
Maybe govt backed out of a contract? Or maybe govt about to buy them all up.

No
its simple economics
the economy is in the shitter and folks can't afford $69k trucks.
Uh, you think a $40k price tag for a truck is still fair? I’d like these companies to get real and learn we all can’t afford to keep shelling out $400-$600 a month for trucks PLUS insurance AND gas.
Why no sales then?
no demand
the economy is in the shitter and folks can't afford $69k trucks.

I spoke to the guy who runs the local GM factory. He's a friend and I trust him. He says they're waiting on chips.
I'm actually sitting next to about 100 right now.
Supposedly they're fleet vehicles but 90% haven't moved in 6 months.
Private companies are getting hit just as hard as we are. The only fleet sales they’re likely to make right now will be to government agencies, and evidently they’re not buying either.
But Yeltin and Biden tell us this is the best economy in years.
Those things don’t have chips in them. They aren’t operable.
It took my dad months to find a new pickup truck for sale in my area. If these things could be driven, they’d be getting sold
In the meantime, Used Car/Truck sales are going through the roof.
Check out the surplus of campers around the US as well.
Can’t get chips
???

I think you have an excellent point. . .
Thank you. None of this makes any rational sense.

All of my "conspiracy theories" have been factial and accurate. I'm still waiting for the Pure Blood Sperm Bank Market to go to the moon.
