What I notice of every Dem that lives in Philly is they have to learn to say no in all aspects of life or they won't make it here. They end up becoming parents, and immediately they learn to say no and to enforce it or their kids run totally amok and it's not safe to have kids who can't listen to adults in the city. Then they have to learn to say no to all the people who have their hands out. Often that is in the workplace also.
As a young man who grew up rural, I was curious about Philly. So I moved, rode the subway a few times, and came home. Black people are shitty neighbors.

I bailed out when CA voters of all races overwhelmingly passed a law making English mandatory in schools. English emersion classes were free to all. The goal was to prevent balkanization, help immigrants function here and for CA to maintain it's prosperity. It passed with a large majority but some judge disagreed with the voters and struck it down. I saw where this was going and moved to the SE. Balkanization is what CA leaders wanted and I'm sure they're pleased with the result.
