I’ve been watching a lot of 2000s movies lately (not legally) and I’ve noticed even a huge difference 15 years makes. Not even in terms of wokeness or politics, but simply in terms of quality.
Exactly. I have to live in the past just to keep living. I can't tolerate any woke new shit. It's the only way I can avoid it. I do prefer 80s and 90s, but early to mid 2000s were good for the most part.
There was a scene in there that strikes me somehow and I'm not sure how to explain it.
The protagonist is a tough-as-nails black cop from Los Angeles.
At one point he talks to another black man who is the head of a Jamaican gang.
Both men are black.
But they are light years apart in culture. The Cop is thoroughly American. The gang leader is thoroughly Jamaican who engages in the voodoo kind of talk, not to mention the accent. "Wot you wahnt, Mistah Police Mon from Bobalon?"
And I wondered if that scene could be shot today.
If they could show two black men who are widely different in culture.
They'd have no problem with two white men. If say, one was a viking and one was a Brit or whatever.
Funny, I do the opposite with books, shows, and movies. Commie faggots.

I prefer 80s and 90s 100% there’s just tons of movies I was too young to watch back in the day that I figured I’d watch now.
You know what's funny?
I watched Predators 2 about a year ago.

But I think this would throw them a curveball.
Does that make sense?
