Pit bulls were bred as fighting dogs not necessarily because they are the biggest and strongest or most aggressive but because they have a high tolerance for pain and can be handled by humans while under intense pain and stress.
A Rottweiler or German will bite anyone within reach if another dog is locked onto them and you tried to separate pit bulls typically won’t. The ones that would bite in that situation would be culled and removed from the gene pool.
Problem is there’s too many retarded pit bulls running around and nobody is culling anything. So you have a highly animal aggressive breed that has exploded onto the scene in the past 30 years with a whole bunch of retard dogs in the gene pool too.

Like any living creature, a dog's natural character can be negatively altered through abuse. A human who's been abused is going to turn out to be a terrible version of himself. Dogs (and other animals) work the same way. An abused pit bull becomes a greater problem (for society) than an abused yorkie because the pit bull has power and strength.
Nope. A Rottweiler would fuck a pitbull up more times than not, same for a lot of bigger dog breeds. They just can’t tolerate pain in the way a pitbull can. if they are getting beat they will eventually cut and run, problem is they usually aren’t getting beat.
A pitbull also has crazy stamina and can fight for much longer than any of those bigger breeds. Again, if a rot is exhausted from fighting it will look for a way out, a pitbull won’t.
The reason they won’t is because over decades and decades of breeding the most aggressive/highest tolerance for pain/safest to handle dogs, what you’re left with is a dog that will fight to the death when it snaps.

Abuse is part of the problem, but not all of it. You absolutely can breed temperament into dogs (and people too) and some are bred to be aggressive, like pits. On the flip side, you can also breed docility into dogs. Goldens are very docile as a side effect of breeding the "soft mouth" retriever trait.

I was all for pit bulls, and had 2 from the time they were puppies, and each time it ended badly. They can be the sweetest most socialized dog for 2 or 3 years straight, and then have totally unpredictable, violent behavior. After having all 170 lbs of me dragged across the sidewalk and asphalt a couple times, because my pit bull had suddenly developed a demonic bloodlust at the sight of toddlers. I was super fit, and using more than all my strength, because adrenaline was pumping full force. He proved he could drag me like a powerless rag doll, and both times my body was scraped up and felt like I’d been hit by a truck the next few days. Ended up giving him to a guy I knew as a backyard guard dog. I stupidly got another pit years later, and won’t even go into another long story, it also went badly.
My nephew had a female pit he cared for for years. Then one day he was playing with her and she just wasn't having it. She reared up and bit him in the face. He has to get stitches and she got put down. And yes my parents swore up and down that Harley was different and that not all pits are violent. I still bring it up whenever they try and play pretend with liberals

In regards to pitbulls, it's the breed. Pit bulls were bred to fight bulls. A bull weighs around 1,000 to 2,000 lbs. A big bull can weight 3,000 lbs. Pit bulls willing fought bulls. In essence, they're bred to be crazy, beserker fighters.
The bite strength of a pit bull is pretty amazing actually because once they bite on to something, they don't let go. Pits can hold onto a leg of a full grown bull flipping out and kicking around for a half hour. There is no human being that could survive that. Either a rampaging bull or a the bite from a pit bull to do that.
Pitbulls also prefer to attack animals the size of cats, toddlers and smaller dogs. There is no warning when a pit decides to flip out. It just flips out and there are many, many documented instances of pitbulls being completely fine and totally unprovoked that just go beserk and end up attacking a child or another pet. What's worse is that once they attack, they sink their teeth in and they don't let go if they get a good jaw lock. Not only are Pit bulls responsible for most dog to human bites, but their bites on average are far more severe.
The only dog that even comes close to that track record are Rottweilers. That's because Rottweilers have a tendency to calm their own pups by applying slight pressure to the head of a pup. Rottweilers try this on infants and small children which causes infants and small children to scream louder which causes the Rottweiler to apply more pressure. Even then, Rottweilers do not do near the damage that Pit bulls do.

I shot at (and missed) a huge crazy Rottwieler my old neighbors used to have because it was attacking my 8month old at the time. (It was attacking us both I was wearing him in a chest carrier). You wouldnt believe the different type of reactions I got for doing that. Half the people know I'm a hero who did something brave to protect my son. The other half thought I was some kind of monster or ATF agent for trying to shoot a dog.
I only fired one! I hit the asphalt right in front of the dog and I think it caught some of the debris and stuff as well as got scared of the sound of the gunshot. It ceased the attack and retreated to his yard and my reaction was to let it retreat and not keep shooting. I didn't want to damage my son's hearing ! But the interesting part was he didn't even wake up from his nap! He's cool under fire. Haha he loves loud fireworks today (he's 2 now). And also my ears didn't hurt at all. They weren't ringing. It wasn't like when you forget at the range. All the adrenaline and stuff makes you have an "auditory exclusion" where like the effect of tunnel vision but it instead it's more like tunnel hearing. It's hard to describe.
I took a golf ball from an old huge rottie once. He bit my leg and then my arm so fast I had no chance to even react. Punctured 4x with each bite. He could have killed me and there wouldn’t have been anything I could have done about it, they are so fast it’s crazy.
That's what I was worried about too. When the dog angrily squared up with me and took a stance that it was about to charge us. I drew my Glock 19 so fast. Which I usually carry appendix but had to get used to carrying it on my back because I was carrying my son in front of me and it makes appendix impossible. I was 90% def for about 5min and my ears rang for another 15... Needless to say I have mad respect for cops that can keep their head after an impromptu exchange of fire...
Haha you really did that after my comment? That's pretty funny. Yea something about the huge dump of adrenaline into my bloodstream made it so my ears weren't ringing and I didn't even notice the gunshot. But those single times I forgot to put my ear pro back on at the range you hear that bullet crack and it physically hurts your ears and head. It's just like how your body can ignore pain temporarily until a fight is over. People don't even notice they got shot or stabbed during an adrenaline rush.
One thing I recommend is when you do go to the range, I know they don't all allow you to but find one that does, and practice firing as well as drawing your gun. Shoot one handed. Shoot with your weak hand. Make yourself familiar with different ways to shoot because more often than not, your shot won't be ideal like what you practice at the range. Everything will be chaotic, and you will face a plethora of adverse conditions you probably don't usually train for. Also practice drawing and dry firing at home. In the mirror or just in your bedroom. Do it hundreds and thousands of times. So when that moment does happen you don't even think about it. Your body just does it automatically.
Good advice. The one that I give to new shooters is this. Always load only one round...
Why? First if you have a major reaction to the gun it cant shoot twice and hurt someone. Second it forces you to practice all the step. Load a round in the mag, load the gun with finger in safe position, make the gun ready, aim, put finger on trigger, fire, release trigger, lower gun, safely eject mag and start over. Speed mag swaps and drawing techniques can wait till you have the basics.

#2 - you obviously don’t know what a clip is. It merely holds cartridges in order to make them easier to load a magazine, usually internal. You also attributed clips to strictly pistols, when the opposite is true.

Because it's a "nice dog who would never hurt anyone" and then when it does get aggressive "oh he was just playing he may snarl but he'd never bite". That same dog tried to get aggressive with me before out in in front of my house and I told them that if they keep letting their aggressive dog out like that I will do what I have to and keep everyone safe from it. But to their credit they didn't get upset with me or anything. They felt bad their dog almost attacked a baby. I did see them walking around outside with their dog unleashed a couple more times and I couldn't believe it. They just don't care. I'm happy they moved. The new guy who lives there seems cool. I own a dog. If my dog every displayed any sort of unwanted aggression towards others I'd have him put down. My dog defends my property but no fedex or ups driver has even come close to being injured or attacked. Most dogs who are aggressive (working dogs learning complex behaviors excluded) are really just anxious and fearful. Something happened to them that makes them afraid and reactive to certain things. Abusing a dog can result in aggression. Not hard to do. Of course we always hope it’d be the person themselves who get attacked but it’s usually not.

Individual dogs are mostly a casual deterrent and an alert. If you are prepared for them, are not intimidated, and don't care about the dog, they're easily incapacitated. They're a bigger issue when they work as a pack.

Blood sport dogs were bred for aggression and tenacity. They attack in specific triggers that are independent from their training or upbringing. It's why a sweet family dog will suddenly brutally attack. They are common because stupid people don't understand how much behavior is ingrained in a dog's brain.
My friend's rottweiler is like that. You can be playing and rubbing its belly all day, then when you put a hat and sunglasses on as you're leaving or talk in a funny voice, it suddenly thinks you're an intruder and goes into attack mode, which is pretty terrifying. Yeah, it's the breed.
Rotties have a similar problem with pits, bit it's related to protection, not aggression. I remember a story about a rottie killing a grandma because she was yelling at the kids while babysitting. Dressing up as an intruder is pretty dumb. Having a pit bull in your house is dumber.
I've heard people say "it's not the breed, it's the owner" but you never hear about someone being killed in a vicious beagle attack. It's not how they were raised, it's in their nature. Just don't apply this biological rule to people because that would be racist.
My buddy growing up had a pit bull. Nice dog just like any other dog. Then, when it got to be about like 10 or 11 people years old, it got vicious. They had to lock it up in the basement, and only brough it out in a muzzle. The fucking thing just lost it's mind.

Animals don't have "upbringings". They aren't "trained". There is literally no such thing as "it's because of the owner". Every single living thing on the planet comes equipped with genetic instructions that determine how it behaves, because there is no such thing as a guarantee of being "trained" by anyone or anything. Except for mammals, which hang around for a little for nursing milk, 99.9% of animals are born and immediately fuck right off into the wild to do what their brains are programmed to do. And most mammals just do that within a few months of birth.

There are millions of good loyal friendly ones. My argument for the banning is more like the siegfried and roy incident. They had a good loyal tiger that got spooked and basically killed one of them. It's not that tigers or some breeds of dogs are bad, its just that they poses immense power that can kill in a split second.
It’s very very rare that a dog simply snaps. That comes from a problem in their brain and can happen with any dog, but again very rare when it comes to aggressive cases. Those who are not knowledgeable about dogs may mistake predictable aggression for simply snapping because they don’t .know how to read dogs or their body language. The vast majority of aggression comes from anxiety or fear and is extremely predictable if people took the time to hire a knowledgeable trainer for their dog who has issues (before they turn into aggression). What should be questioned is people who don’t know how to train or raise dogs having them and then damaging them. Never training them, reinforcing all the wrong things. That said most pits are very forgiving and their family can do just about anything to them without consequence. But don’t expect your dog to love the mailman if you didn’t train them to be calm around him.
My brother owned a pitbull that was insanely sweet and shy and died peacefully of old age and never hurt anyone. However if you played tug of war with him you could see the murder in his genes...
Some dogs definitely can't handle tug! That's good to hear though, I've known a lot of very very sweet pits, including ones who were abused and rehomed multiple times until they found a loving family. I hate seeing people blame the dog for humans not knowing how to handle them.

I've had multiple of both types of American Bulldog, they are sweet dogs but get very big, can be intimidating to unfamiliar faces and are extremely prone to disease. They are also very food motivated and need a ton of exercise to keep them mellow. Pretty consistent trait across the few I've owned but they are pretty rare and hard to find. All of mine came from breeders.

I was all for pit bulls, and had 2 from the time they were puppies, and each time it ended badly. They can be the sweetest most socialized dog for 2 or 3 years straight, and then have totally unpredictable, violent behavior. After having all 170 lbs of me dragged across the sidewalk and asphalt a couple times, because my pit bull had suddenly developed a demonic bloodlust at the sight of toddlers. I was super fit, and using more than all my strength, because adrenaline was pumping full force. He proved he could drag me like a powerless rag doll, and both times my body was scraped up and felt like I’d been hit by a truck the next few days. Ended up giving him to a guy I knew as a backyard guard dog. I stupidly got another pit years later, and won’t even go into another long story, it also went badly.
My nephew had a female pit he cared for for years. Then one day he was playing with her and she just wasn't having it. She reared up and bit him in the face. He has to get stitches and she got put down. And yes my parents swore up and down that Harley was different and that not all pits are violent. In regards to pitbulls, it's the breed. Pit bulls were bred to fight bulls. A bull weighs around 1,000 to 2,000 lbs. A big bull can weight 3,000 lbs. Pit bulls willing fought bulls. In essence, they're bred to be crazy, beserker fighters.
The bite strength of a pit bull is pretty amazing actually because once they bite on to something, they don't let go. Pits can hold onto a leg of a full grown bull flipping out and kicking around for a half hour. There is no human being that could survive that. Either a rampaging bull or a the bite from a pit bull to do that.
Pitbulls also prefer to attack animals the size of cats, toddlers and smaller dogs. There is no warning when a pit decides to flip out. It just flips out and there are many, many documented instances of pitbulls being completely fine and totally unprovoked that just go beserk and end up attacking a child or another pet. What's worse is that once they attack, they sink their teeth in and they don't let go if they get a good jaw lock. Not only are Pit bulls responsible for most dog to human bites, but their bites on average are far more severe.
The only dog that even comes close to that track record are Rottweilers. That's because Rottweilers have a tendency to calm their own pups by applying slight pressure to the head of a pup. Rottweilers try this on infants and small children which causes infants and small children to scream louder which causes the Rottweiler to apply more pressure. Even then, Rottweilers do not do near the damage that Pit bulls do.

I shot at (and missed) a huge crazy Rottwieler my old neighbors used to have because it was attacking my 8month old at the time. (It was attacking us both I was wearing him in a chest carrier). I only fired one! I hit the asphalt right in front of the dog and I think it caught some of the debris and stuff as well as got scared of the sound of the gunshot. It ceased the attack and retreated to his yard and my reaction was to let it retreat and not keep shooting. I didn't want to damage my son's hearing ! But the interesting part was he didn't even wake up from his nap! He's cool under fire. Haha he loves loud fireworks today (he's 2 now). And also my ears didn't hurt at all. They weren't ringing. It wasn't like when you forget at the range. All the adrenaline and stuff makes you have an "auditory exclusion" where like the effect of tunnel vision but it instead it's more like tunnel hearing. It's hard to describe.

Yea something about the huge dump of adrenaline into my bloodstream made it so my ears weren't ringing and I didn't even notice the gunshot. But those single times I forgot to put my ear pro back on at the range you hear that bullet crack and it physically hurts your ears and head. It's just like how your body can ignore pain temporarily until a fight is over. People don't even notice they got shot or stabbed during an adrenaline rush.
One thing I recommend is when you do go to the range, I know they don't all allow you to but find one that does, and practice firing as well as drawing your gun. Shoot one handed. Shoot with your weak hand. Make yourself familiar with different ways to shoot because more often than not, your shot won't be ideal like what you practice at the range. Everything will be chaotic, and you will face a plethora of adverse conditions you probably don't usually train for. Also practice drawing and dry firing at home. In the mirror or just in your bedroom. Do it hundreds and thousands of times. So when that moment does happen you don't even think about it. Your body just does it automatically.
Good advice. The one that I give to new shooters is this. Always load only one round...
Why? First if you have a major reaction to the gun it cant shoot twice and hurt someone. Second it forces you to practice all the step. Load a round in the mag, load the gun with finger in safe position, make the gun ready, aim, put finger on trigger, fire, release trigger, lower gun, safely eject mag and start over. My buddy growing up had a pit bull. Nice dog just like any other dog. Then, when it got to be about like 10 or 11 people years old, it got vicious. They had to lock it up in the basement, and only brough it out in a muzzle. The fucking thing just lost it's mind.

What should be questioned is people who don’t know how to train or raise dogs having them and then damaging them. Never training them, reinforcing all the wrong things. That said most pits are very forgiving and their family can do just about anything to them without consequence. But don’t expect your dog to love the mailman if you didn’t train them to be calm around him.

It's so dumb. People still don't know the difference because they all look very similar. American Bullys are bulldogs, not terriers. I've had multiple of both types of American Bulldog, they are sweet dogs but get very big, can be intimidating to unfamiliar faces and are extremely prone to disease. They are also very food motivated and need a ton of exercise to keep them mellow. Pretty consistent trait across the few I've owned but they are pretty rare and hard to find. All of mine came from breeders.
American Staffordshire Terriers are what most know as Pit Bulls, they carry the Terrier gene and are very different behaviorally.
