Lo fucking l! They had to get "fixing to" in first, before they could change it to finna??? There's going to come a time when we'll truly need an interpreter for jive/ebonics. It was funny in Airplane, never thought I'd see it come to pass in my lifetime. These are truly awesome times we're living in!
yeah same. we lost a massive chunk of our history in just thirty years. see, right after the civil war, there was a massive influx of black families out of the south, because things got sticky, what with the union army doin all kinds of warped shit down here. there was another massive influx i think sometime after the second world war. those black families came largely from the south, and they had largely southern accents from where they came, dixie, floridian, 'sippi, texan, so on
ebonics to me (grew up in arkansas and texas) sounds like a bible belt southern accent. mine shifts when im talkin to someone from those regions, black or white.
that said, aint much of a fan of putting such shit in dictionary as though it were the standard. documented sure, but its regional. you dont see Brummie being held high in Oxford dictionaries of RP
No. Just fuck off.
How about the lazy fuckers just learn english, and the dictionaries stop destroying the language by adding redundant words just to pander.
They can't. 60 years has shown that a majority cannot master the English language. For whatever reason, they can't.
Ebonics is back on the menu

I don't think it's just a black culture thing. A lot of people in the South say finna, white and black.
Weird, that's where the overwhelming majority of the black people are...

Every time I see "pidgin English" on BBC, I can't believe its real. But it is.
Do Africans use 'finna' too? Snap!
Still waiting for my dindu muffins.
"African American Vernacular" I'm so old I remember when they called it Ebonics...
I’m fickin to not use that dictionary.
EBONICS
Ah yes, we can't teach them to be civilized so we lower the qualifiers for what it means to be civil.
"Why promote proper English when when can take advantage to signal virtue?," - Dictionary.com faggots who debase our language for social points
They are running scrabble
Finna can now be used in college. See how paying out tons of money for a paper means nothing.
Finna ‘fin out, mah n….
That means "horse fucker" in Finnish.
Sheeeeeeeit!
Yo, heyba mamba imba finna to busta IQ rhyme.
Apparently you can now be a retard and not speak proper English and another bunch of retards will justify your stupidity.
Where I come from a finna is $5. A sawbuck is $10. A twinkler is $20. Fitty is $50, a C-Note is $100.
I hope they have alternate meanings.
No shit. I always thought that was a derogatory term.
They finna ruin English too an sheeeeiiiit.
Free boat rides.
Meh, not too fussed with this. Dictionaries are descriptive, not prescriptive and new words are always being added to as new words come into use.
I'm more concerned about altering definitions for political purposes. I wouldn't be surprised to see some words cancelled in the near future too.
With that said, whoever twisted bourgeois into "boogie" can die in a fire.
I'm finna throw away my dikshunary

Way to perpetuate gutter English.
