4 day work week. 35 percent raise. A traditional pension. All sounds so reasonable. I can’t wait to pay 89k for a ford ranger

It may actually get cheaper when they just build all of their cars in Mexico instead

Shit, I assumed they already did. What car is built in the US? Or do they assemble them with foreign parts and call it "made in America"?

Mexico doesn't really mean cheaper, especially when you get quality issues. I once ordered a very popular and high end and expensive office chair that had just moved to being made in Mexico. I had to send it back for a replacement 3 times, straight out of the box.

They had issues like the cushioning was basically flattened like they were sat in for months by factory workers and used as their own personal lounge equipment at work. The wheels were scuffed up like they had been rolling them around on rough concrete floor, there were scuffs and even gouges on various areas of the body, the articulating arms were installed improperly and were offset at an angle so they could never align evenly with each other, and more, like the seat slides forward and back on a track, but the track wasn't even connected on one side. Total shit assembly job.

It was a nightmare. It had all the quality components, but they were being assembled poorly, like taking something made with high quality materials from the USA and having it assembled in China.

That product is still being made in Mexico, and it costs over twice as much now, and the quality issues are still probably the same. So not only are people paying more for the product, they're getting an inferior quality product assembled by greasy faced bastards. This product costed less and was better quality when it was made in the USA. So we're not even getting the benefit of lower prices anymore, we're just paying more for less quality, all so the government can pat them on the back for being soo multicultural.

The worst is the elevator union. Literally a guy sits on a bucket pressing a button you could press but he has to do it. No trick for grift or slowing production is missed by the union. I used to be UPS inside management. If a non-union employee moved a package and was witnessed by a union member, they could file a grievance and get paid extra for that work being done by a management person.

Wanted to train a union member? They had to stand and watch while the management person did the work.

We would often be getting behind in loading trailers, go into the load, tell the employee that we were going to "train" them for a few minutes, have them stand against the wall and then go to town actually working quickly to get the loading operation caught back up.

It results in costs so high that it's literally cheaper to ship entire sections of aircraft across the country on unmarked trucks to a non unionized shop just to install small things and then ship it back. I worked for a corrugated (cardboard) manufacturer for awhile several years ago. We made boxes for everything from computer software to exercise equipment, and retail store displays. The company was struggling with an acquisition they had just bought. There was a printing company next door that we did a ton of business with and we bought them. During the transition, the employees there had unionized and this resulted in the acquisition being a loss. Then the same union rep would try to weasel his way into our company. We had an outdoor smoking area that was covered and had a bunch of chairs. We would go to break and find fliers placed on the chairs. The fliers would be riddled with propaganda aimed at minorities. It had bullet points stating things like minorities receive as much as 40% less pay at non-union companies. They are literally vultures.

My wife and I bought a used Truck yesterday and all the people there we talked to had said that due to this strike, car prices are going to go up just like COVID. Multiple dealerships said this same verbiage. This was one of the negotiating tactics they leveraged which didn’t work on us but I found the pattern interesting serving two ideas. 1 car prices were about to slam to the floor and this keeps transportation expensive and hard to afford. 2 the dealers want high prices to make more money and have lots full of cars. Without a strike the car market is flush with inventory and buyers are starting to dwindle down. Death spiral for new and used cars was just starting. It’s almost as if this was coordinated.

I guess I don't even know what a "union" is anymore, and at this point I'm afraid to ask. They can "expand a strike" into Tesla? Meaning?

I was listening to a Red Pilled America once about Disney, and how Walt hated commies and they were able to steal his company by "organizing" the labor, rather smugly too. And then his brother Roy Disney took over the operations while Walt wouldn't have anything to do with it.

So "union" just means that a psycho commie can come give a lay religious speech to your company's employees about being equal and it's their labor; and you can't do anything? But then that psychopath can claim the people at your company are united as equals and he is the boss of them? And he can take their money and speak for them and do anything but you can't?

I've been buying nothing but old Toyotas for the past 10 years and they are awesome! I bought a chevy 2500 HD like 12 years ago and the door handle feel off a few days after I paid for the thing in cash so I brought that shit back to the dealership and have been running Toyota ever since

Telsa workers are non-unionized because they are compensated with TSLA stock... which has gone up 1100% in the last 5 year. There are line workers who are millionaires.

I’m a butcher and meat manager in a union since I was 18. It’s not bad. Last contract negotiation the company wanted workers to work split shifts, meaning work 7-11. Go home, come back work 4-8. Union president said “just hearing you say that made my asshole quiver”. Got up told his guys to get up and walk out and said “maybe tomorrow you’ll be more serious”. That was the last of the split shift idea.

Whilst Tesla is non unionized, some of their suppliers may be.
