idk, went to Taco Bell 5 years ago and ordered a bunch of things and it came out to $9. Ordered the same thing last week and it was almost $30. $0.89 items are now apparently $4.79.
How are they still in business? I'll go to a local Mexican sit-down restaurant for that price
I drove away from the window at Wendy's a couple of years ago. The clerk on the speaker was incompetent, and the price they quoted for a burger was ludicrous- so far off from the stated price on the menu I didn't bother with arguing, I just drove off. Screw 'em, they can eat it themselves at that price.
We don't go to those places very often, but what I've noticed in recent years: there are a lot of children running around, and lots of adults who don't seem to be working.
Maybe they are using the restaurants as a daycare, or a place for the adults to wait around for a ride, who knows. But in the past 4-5 years every time we go to an "authentic Mexican restaurant" there are more people just loitering around the kitchen than people actually working there.
> I live near a failing small-town in a Flyover State that has fallen to Leftist Creep in recent years. There has been a sudden massive flood of illegal aliens arriving here, beginning in the Worst 0bama years but much worse during the Biden regime.
One of the things that set him off in that movie was the road being closed for frivolous highway repairs just to get federal money. It's amazing to me because that was semi-believable back then that such a thing might set someone off. Obviously not to the point where you would fire a bazooka at the construction site, that part's clearly tongue-in-cheek, but the sentiment that the government was wasting your money and screwing you over was commonly understood. Now we have trillions, TRILLIONS, of dollars being sprayed all over the place, and most people couldn't care less, or worse, think it's great and you're a conspiracy theorist if you think anything's fishy about it. It's not Falling Down anymore, it's Fallen Down.
A McChicken or a cheeseburger at McDonald’s used to be a $1
McDonald’s, along with every other major corporation, has been price gouging EVERYTHING Americans consume
They tell you it’s because everything is “more expensive now” but McDonald’s global expenses for 2020-2022 were significantly lower than 2010-2016
McDonald's revenue and profits continue to grow too. Their gross profit for the quarter ending June 30, 2023 was $3.7 BILLION, a 12.99% increase year-over-year.
There's a lot of people stealing others cards and pumping gas for you at a discount (because they're charging someone else's card. Usually they insist on helping you pump. Then when you leave they don't hang up the pump. And offer the next car that pulls up gas for a discount. While charging your card. You won't realize it happened until later after you got home and they're long gone.
This is happening to people more frequently in California and other places too. So tell your family to be careful.
Who the fuck would let "someone" pump gas at self serve? No one.
Californians, as stupid as they may be in some areas, aren't letting strangers walk up to their cars to pump gas. Good way to get knifed or have your car jacked by homeless or meth-heads. This is pure bullshit.
Maybe you wouldn't let someone. But alot of people are pushovers. They don't just ask they become pushy and insist. And tend to target women and elderly. Vulnerable people who are easily intimidated.
There are people like this everywhere, criminals and victims, smart people and morons. Stop thinking California is some different planet. That shit does happen all over.
If someone tells you 20$ to fill up your tank, FULL. Alot of people will say "fuck yea fill her up!" An honest person might say no, but there are a lot of broke people who don't care. And will say yes if it means saving 40-50$.
I had a friend from high school who had possession of a gas card from I think his father's company. He would sell all of us tanks of gas basically at half price if we gave him cash. I used to fill up my car for 15$ from empty to full back then because of him.
$3.29 in my neck of the woods, but that's because Kemp suspended the gas tax to placate the voters that want want to fill a tube sock with oranges and beat him until they're juiced over betraying Trump.
Incidentally that's also the look on my face when someone running for office only ever talks about gas and economy, as if that's the only thing I care about.
Schumacher described himself as "extremely promiscuous", saying in a 2019 interview that he became sexually active at age eleven, and estimating that he had sex with between 10,000 and 20,000 men over the course of his life.
The economy is doing better because the gas companies are making bank off of that almost $2 a gallon!! They’re making record profits.
“Inflation” is just corporations extorting us for as much money as they can. And that is what they mean by “the economy doing well” corporations making money for the elite off of our backs
I have 3 kids and 2 homes. I made more money last year than I ever had before, and I'm poised to do even better this year due to starting my own consulting business. But I'm not "mature" enough for you because I enjoy shitposting on this Internet backwater? Lol OK boomer.
My fast food meal for ONE was $11 yesterday.
I don't often use fast food but I was in the middle of working in the yard and was in a hurry to get some calories down after hitting the lumber yard.
I WAS SHOCKED!!!!
(Last time I had this exact meal, circa 2020, it was 7 dollars and change.)
idk, went to Taco Bell 5 years ago and ordered a bunch of things and it came out to $9. Ordered the same thing last week and it was almost $30. $0.89 items are now apparently $4.79.

This is why we have a "booming economy."
People are not walking out the door when they see the absurd prices. They buy anyway because they want it.
Just like you did.
Well I was already at the pay window, but I'll give them another chance.... in 2027.
You can always not pay and leave without food
I drove away from the window at Wendy's a couple of years ago. Yes but now I go one time and I realize I'm never going back lol
The numbers are booming , the volumes are crashing . Which for fast food is good.
But crashing volumes is the final warning of an Economy before impact.
INFLATION pretends to make your feel good , like cocaine with too much fentanyl in it.
My family gave up on fastfood ladt year. If we're gonna eat somewhere its gonna be a locally owned place.
Yeah, my wife and I used to love hitting authentic Mexican restaurants.
But today, I can't get past how many illegals they employ. I mean, their immediate family is one thing--I can respect that. But so many additional...
We don't go to those places very often, but what I've noticed in recent years: there are a lot of children running around, and lots of adults who don't seem to be working.

Drag queen lunch hour was enough to get me to stop eating taco bell.
6 tacos and one coke for my father and myself was $25.
Now you understand why the character played in that movie lost his mind.
He lived through the era of economic mayhem from 1965-1995 and wished things could go back to 1965.
They never went back. The proles just accepted the fate handed down to them and tried to move on with their lives, but he didn't.

I don't eat out often, but when I do, it's always a Chinese all-you-can-eat buffet.
Only around $12 a person for weekday lunch.
Now there one can get one's money's worth!
Yeah, but farm raised shrimp! (Ewwww!!!!)
DEY ARE EATING DA POO POO!!!
Chickens and pigs over Telapia and Shimp........workers ........Deep State Owners
Circle of life , wait ...........Food Chain & you ain't near top.
Garbage food, ugh.
Cat is cheap
Bunch of fat fucks in this thread lol
All that food fattened up my dick. Your Mom keeps sending Gift Certificates now.
My mother is dead.
Disgusting
Damn! How much did you order? I got a royale with cheese meal the other day and it was only $6
Hour north of Houston...
#2 Quarter pounder w/cheese, large fry, large Coke. $11.18 if I remember correctly.
Oh you’re right. I was thinking just the sandwich is like $6. Meal is like $10.50.
Worst part, I left the unfinished fries in the front seat with the door open.
My wife got back from her softball game, saw the fries, and finished them.
Then she gave me shit for going to McDonald's!
Hypocrite!
lol classic!
You must be on the metric system.
Other than the obvious don't eat goyslop.
Lookup McDonalds operating costs and revenue over past 10 years.
Operating costs have gone down compared to 2014. Profits have gone up. They are price gouging to fit the narrative, it's not just inflation.

They’re not hurting for customers either, and stated “9 in 10 Americans” will eat McDonald’s at least once a year. https://twitter.com/stclairashley/status/1695574588367806884
Where does one purchase that cheap $3.79 gas? ⛽ 🐸👍
Not in California

I'm just trying to understand the "scam" here. Someone pulls to a pump, a random person offers a discount, asks for cash, and fills the tank.
Still not buying it. People are painfully aware of scammer and homeless trying to steal from you.... or worse.
Also, no one carries cash to a gas station to fill the tank anymore.
If someone tells you 20$ to fill up your tank, FULL. Alot of people will say "fuck yea fill her up!" An honest person might say no, but there are a lot of broke people who don't care. And will say yes if it means saving 40-50$.

Still ain't happening. This is a made up story.
Dam. Thanks for the tip.
$3.29 in my neck of the woods, but that's because Kemp suspended the gas tax to placate the voters that want want to fill a tube sock with oranges and beat him until they're juiced over betraying Trump.
It's $3.79-$3.99 in/around Omaha. Only goes up from there.
I filled up at $3.32 (I think) a couple days ago, in the midwest.
$3.55 - $3.91 on the Eastcoast NY, PA, NJ, DE
To someone in California, $3.79 probably sounds like a major deal.
I saw $5.39 at Costco this weekend 😡
$6.999 yesterday for super in shithole San Fernando Valley.
$6.85 in CA last week when I visited my nephew
The man just wanted some breakfast and some Trump priced gas. I member it being $1.19 a gallon not even 3 years ago.
As a kid I thought this guy was nuts...
As an adult I don't think he went far enough...
$3.79....I wish! Gas is around $7 in my part of Los Angeles.
What part of Europe? There’s going to be a BIG difference between places.
They don't have Bidenomics.
I get the context of the memes this character is in but I've never seen the movie. What is the name of it?
"Falling Down," the actor is Michael Douglas (a "nepo baby," the son of Kirk Douglas.) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Falling_Down
Falling Down
More like $6+ in California.
I haven't seen $3.79 for a long time. It's been between $4.50 and $5.00 for over a year
*and I'm starting to see $5.50 to $5.60 now
Paul Krugman has entered the chat
Incidentally that's also the look on my face when someone running for office only ever talks about gas and economy, as if that's the only thing I care about.
That's why their going cashless only. You need to take a loan out to eat their shit
and what about the muff divers? Think about it
Looks like he's about McFucking had it.
I eat healthy at home. We don't do restaurants under Biden
"You forgot the briefcase"!
A random factoid about that film's director:

Holy shit
Like... how the actual fuck... can you lose track so badly... that the margin for error is 5,000 dudes.
Over $7 yesterday in Commifornia
Just posted this on Facebook. Got fact checked within 5 minutes!
Who said anything about February 2021?
The economy is doing better because the gas companies are making bank off of that almost $2 a gallon!! They’re making record profits.

Probably not their names are "boomshakalaalala"
Boomer meme
