They used Fulton County to do it because it’s a deep-blue cesspool of Democrats.

Are you fucking high? Arrest him for what? If he really thought he won he would have let them arrest him like he’s doing now. He’s clearly not afraid of being arrested. Oh and since he was still sitting president he could have declared martial law and had the election redone. That was the plan but he didn’t have the nuts for it. Peter Navarro went into detail about it. The plan was called the Green Bay sweep. Look it up.

Well yeah. Why else would Trump pack his shit and move out of the WH? It was fun to say he won at first. It felt good to say and it triggered the left. But now it doesn’t trigger them anymore. In fact they bait many candidates into saying the election was stolen so they can use it in attack ads after seeing how it hurt us in the midterms. I wish he won. I wish it more than anything but loss happens and he just didn’t win. I’d rather own the loss than believe he was cucked by Biden. For some reason you’d rather believe he was cucked. Not sure why but that’s your choice.

Far better. This stupid move proves again his lawyers are NOT defending him. That’s a trap to stay in Fulton and frame Trump as a liar like they did to Giuliani. Both Trump and Giuliani were right on seeing election fraud there, but there were some false claims made and Fulton knows them all. That trial will be a big fat “debunking” and his lawyers want just that.

As of right now, the trial will be televised. The more likely scenario is the networks will cut away to a panel full of Dems with one or two Never-Trumpers (think Liz Cheney or Adam Kinzinger) after the prosecution is done so they can talk over the defense while they're presenting evidence.

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 15 ▼
– War_Hamster 15 points 65 days ago +16 / -1

Have you heard Fani Willis speak?

She's incompetent enough that the average person isn't going to need to hear the defense. Too bad we're a bit short on people of average intelligence these days.

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 12 ▼
– goldkeyboardwarrior 12 points 65 days ago +12 / -0

I'm not too worried about Willis especially since she's the lead DA and will probably have people under her presenting for the prosecution anyway rather than doing it personally.

The MSM's main reason for not wanting us to see what the defense will present is because part of Trump's defense will probably be proof of fraud in Fulton County (and possibly elsewhere) courts refused to see in the weeks after the 2020 election due to the claim he had no standing.

Now, he's literally being charged on the claim he knew there was no fraud and his defense will be showing that there was indeed fraud. Shortly after the Atlanta indictment Trump announced he would show proof of fraud live but canceled it after his lawyers stepped in (most likely to save it for the courtroom). People with TDS may try to ignore it but it would redpill a lot of people watching since we know there will be leftists like Hasan Piker live reacting to it.

True it must be related to the charges but if there can be some information invalidating the charges especially due to prosecutorial misconduct that might help, even if it doesn't sway the jury. An appeal goes to a different court.

I’m predicting no evidence of voter fraud is presented by trump or his team.

That is a safe bet and I think that you are being downvoted by people misunderstanding the legal issues here. There are lawful and unlawful ways of challenging a fraudulent election. If you are accused of having tried one of the unlawful ones then “We did it because the election was fraudulent“ is not a defense, it’s an admission of guilt.

An effective defense will show that the defendants’ actions were lawful (actually the defense only has to show a reasonable doubt that they were unlawful) under the Georgia statutes, and evidence of voter fraud is pretty much irrelevant to that question. Indeed, it is so irrelevant that if Trump’s team does try to introduce it I would bet on the judge disallowing it.

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 4 ▼
– HugeMagaBalls 4 points 65 days ago +4 / -0

But in a way it is directly relevant to the case. If Trump truly believed that there was fraud in Georgia, then his call makes perfect sense as someone who is asking for remedy of a fraudulent election. Intent is everything. I think I even heard some legal scholars say that the prosecution will try to convince the jury that Trump knew there was no fraud. Thus making his actions illegal. But if Trump truly believed there was fraud, then asking for an investigation and to "find the votes" meaning fraudulent votes, would be well within his rights. At least that's how it was explained by these legal scholars. But I'm not a lawyer.

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 2 ▼
– mundania 2 points 64 days ago +2 / -0

If the phone call by Trump was the alleged crime then that argument for introducing evidence of fraud might fly (although even then it would be somewhat tangential - don’t need to show that there was fraud to show that Trump believed that there was fraud).

But there’s a lot more than that in the indictment, and a lot more defendants than just Trump.

permalink parent save report block reply

– Allister 7 points 65 days ago +8 / -1

In Georgia while examining jurists to choose, counsel from both parties can ask

any fact or circumstance indicating any inclination, leaning, or bias which the prospective juror might have respecting the subject matter of the action or the counsel or parties thereto, and the religious, social, and fraternal connections of the prospective juror.

That means asking their political leanings should be permitted in a politically charged case like this... It only takes one to acquit, and thus should not be a huge task to get one Trump-supporting jurist who isn't buying the scam...

You can't claim it doesn't work or not, it very much can work out in the defense's favor in a high-profile case like this if the questions are crafted properly that allow some insight into the jury members so you don't get an entirely packed jury...

I think the plan is he knows that this isn't even a state court issue, it's a federal court issue, so any kind of fuckery they try to do in state court will ultimately be legally null and void and exposes their fuckery by trying to bring the case in such a court in the first place.

They wanted Trump to move it to federal court, because the federals couldn't bring it, so they tried to sneak it in through state court getting moved to federal. Now they're stuck, because they can't move it to federal court without Trump requesting it.

In a surprise decision, Donald Trump opts not to seek to remove his election interference case to federal court. His attorney says it’s based on the “well-founded confidence” that he’ll receive a fair trial in Fulton County

This means the trial will be held in Fulton County court and — importantly — would be televised.
