This is disgraceful. Realize: the low end estimates are 12,000,000 illegal aliens in this country as high as 20,000,000! If anyone has more recent statistics, I would love to see them

California 1994 statistics

California total population – 31,500,000

Illegal aliens = 1,868,500 or 6% of population

California total prison population = 125,605

Illegal alien prison population = 17,000

Illegal aliens = 13.5% prison population

September 1996 Hans P. Johnson: Undocumented Immigration to California: 1980-1993 “…estimates developed in this report that include undercount adjustments range from 1,578,000 to 2,159,000…” pg 85 (in California for 1990 census) assume 1,868,500

Total prison population in California in 1994: 125,605

November 1994 GAO Report: ILLEGAL ALIENS - Assessing Estimates of Financial Burden on California 18000-16000 Illegal alien inmates (pg 15)

Illegal alien prison population is tracked federally and makes up 22% of inmates So don't you go crying abou immigration offences are federal! They are not held for immigration crimes and are still over represented federally!

These statistics are old, old, old. So what happened? Did they just stop counting, in order to hide the truth?

I think many of these studies were commissioned because of California Proposition 187 in 1994. Even though it passed, the leftist legislature decided that doing something about illegal aliens would cost more than it would save.
