So I think I speak for most people here in that most of us are utterly perplexed how easily Democrats seem misled by social media, or how utterly uninformed they seem. I mean just look at those Mark Dice man on the street videos where they think Joe Biden died on the boardwalk and the name doesn't even recognize in their eyes. There are two things that happened between now and today.

The left "loves" Barack Obama but they cannot tell you why. They like him mostly because they see him as a gentleman and a scholar. They usually cannot tell you his accomplishments and if you ever tell them Barack caged kids they instantly deflect and blame Trump. Why?

The left "hates" Donald Trump but they cannot tell you why, specifically. Sure some might regurgitate Charlottesville hoax comments, or his Mexican criminal comments, but most cannot give you a succinct reason why they hate him. They view him as illegitimate and compromised by a foreign power. Why?
Again always ask WHY! The reason is simple. The media. The media controls everything in this country. Hell it's where Barack heard about things first apparently if you remember how he always said "I'm just learning it the same as you guys, from the news."
To the endless genuflecting and reverence for either Barack or his husband Michael. Endless covers of magazines... I mean I could go on and on. Anything Barack touched turned to gold.
So the question you have to ask. How do I break through to the other side who seems so determined to take our country down this path? You see it all the time online especially during these impeachment proceedings. They deified Nancy Pelosi and Adam Schiff as saints on a crusade to rid of us the evil orange man, while completely ignoring the nuanced of the testimony and just cutting straight to the conclusion they want. One day a psychologist is going to have a field day with the amount of cognitive bias from the left.
The end being most, I'd say 90% or higher will not change their views. They are hopelessly gaslit by the media and the only thing that might change them... well two things. Lets pretend a Democrat gets elected in 2020. If that Democrat wins and doesn't fulfill their campaign promises despite all the hopes and dreams of the far-left resting on his/her election. What then? I imagine they'll move the goal posts. The second thing that happens is a few might change their views and come to a moment of self-reflection.
But most of all... most of these people will never change their views. The best thing you can do is harden yourself and if you ever encounter these lunatics in real life. Put on a smile and kill them with kindness. It might not help but you might catch them off-guard and just maybe you might change their mind. That the evil orange man... really is not that bad.
It's unfortunate the media keeps everyone siloed off in their own reality. The left consumes nothing but CNN, MSNBC, TYT, HuffPo, and the assortment of other leftist garbage media propaganda. Fox News isn't much better but at least it is better, a little, since Shep left. We still got Juan Williams and Judge Nap to stomach but at least we have a outlet. I admit I don't even watch Fox News because I've never had a subscription to TV news. I just catch the clips on YouTube. But for me I simply see the right not as "Defenders of Trump", but instead as truth seekers who are willing to stand up to the propaganda and seek facts rather than starting investigations with a predetermined conclusion of guilt.

Look into MBTI personality types. Some people make decisions based on feelings (mostly liberals) some on thinking/logic (mostly conservatives).
The media manipulates through emotion. They have found what works and have been doing it for multiple decades, possibly even centuries. Kids in cages. Greta, a little girl designed to emotionally manipulate people into increasing thier taxes.
Conservatives make decisions based on logic so they can see through all the Bullshit.
Ask them one thing Trump has done to make America worse. They won't be able to answer. That's when you tell them they're are a victim. A victim of social media propaganda. Hopefully it will cause them to reconsider some things. Syria dead child on beach picture. Etc
All humans are more or less wired to be rationalizing, not rational creatures. Logical people are very much a minority.
Which is why we used to have a Republic, not a Democracy. And now that that has been subverted, and a rationalizing cabal has taken over media, the schools, and hollywood, it's easy for them to spread their cult.
And it is a religious cult. The foundational lie at the bottom of all of it is that humanity is a blank slate, and by imagining other possibilities and teaching people young enough, they can remold and reshape humanity itself.
Unfortunately for them, there are pesky things called genes that hardwire behavioral tendencies into us. I wonder how long until they start pushing genetic engineering to get around that, too.
The television, and media is the fuel that needs to keep being fed to the Leftist News Addict. If turned off for a day, the addict is left helpless.

After the 2000 election and Gore "The inventor of the internet" lost by a few hanging Chad's. The left was poised to never think they lost, if they did it was stolen.
Fast forward 8 years. The "W" era was coming to a close, the recession triggered by politics affecting home lending was the trigger. You had 8 years of the left media bashing Bush. Everything was his fault, he went into the Gulf of Mexico and manually pushed Hurricane Katrina to New Orleans. Bush never fought back against the media lies and after a while people started to believe their tales.
Here comes the 2008 election. Hillary back then was the presumed winner but got derailed because the media chose somebody else. He looked good, he sounded good and as for achievements he was a clean slate unlike Hillary who had severe baggage back then. He won the primary and ran against a very unlikable McCain, in fact if it were not for Palin he would have lost by a larger margin. Many people voted for Obama not because of his policies, when he ran his policies were vague except for "HOPE & CHANGE". And many people voted for him so they could prove to themselves that they were not racist.
After Obama's policies became clear, the Tea Party movement began and shook the world in the 2010 mid term. For the 2012 election cycle the GOP forced apon us a true traitor to his party. Romney should have & could have won but he wilted under the media pressure.
A the while I have wondered, when it comes to the Democrat Party and the Legacy Media. Which is the dog and which is the tail? They regurgitate talking points to wherenyouncan flip channels and they all say the same thing. Same with print media(online now).

I saw a comment a long time that described Trump this way:
“Trump is is like an extremely blunt doctor when he speaks.
If an overweight patient comes into his office he won’t say, ‘Ma’am we are going to discuss some alternative diets and exercise routines to help assist you in leading a healthier lifestyle.
But what he would say is, ‘Damn girl you’re huge. You need to lose some weight!’
Both comments are communicating the same thing, that the patient is overweight, but Trump doesn't pull any punches and tells it how it is.
Trump and Obama were two different speakers for sure and it seems the left prefers having a more eloquent speaker yet unproductive president versus a direct, in your face, productive president.
Add in the fact they also don’t like his arrogance and winning ways. Essentially they’re extremely jealous.

I was always open to conservative talking points but for a long time, the msm was better at positioning themselves as the “adults in the room”. They looked and sounded more trustworthy than the other side during the W years, who came off (to me at least) as nuts. That plus all the conditioning I got starting in elementary school. I see that now when my kid comes home and tells me what they learned and I have to correct it. I was conditioned to think that it was impossible to be a caring person and also be conservative. I’ve realized now that I still care about all the things I cared about before, I just see that liberal policies don’t help, they make things worse. It’s hard to break a lifetime of people telling you that being a good person equals voting for free stuff.
We are simply the manifestation of an algorithm running in our brains. That algorithm is trained by its inputs. If you feed it shit, you will have a shit brain. If everyone around you has shit brains, you will have no cognitive capability to see that you're full of shit.
Just an observation. There are two types of people - those who think Trump is sometimes hilarious and witty and those who hear that same thing and think Trump is evil/arrogant/bad. You could ask those same people in the latter category if they thought Obama was witty or funny at times and they'd surely say he was. But think about it, can you name even one time Obama was genuinely funny? I mean, even when he did that phone drop thing with the line "At least I will go down as being a President." It was entirely done to disparage someone (in that case, DJT.) His humor, such as it was, was always cutting. And definitely unfunny IMO.
Meanwhile Trump has said absolutely spit-your-coffee out hilarious stuff over the years, and there you go. The two camps pretty much right there.
Also DJT can do an extemporaneous talk for an hour without notes and do it flawlessly. Obama couldn't do such a talk if his life depended on it. He has to have the teleprompter or notes, period.
