Pelosi while being a far left wing liberal is not a dummy. She knew that they had nothing at all to hang an Impeachment arounf Trump's neck. She tried in the comment of this post a while back to tamp down the Impeachment talk.
Now IMHO two things happened that changed her mind somewhat.
AOC and her Four Horsefaces of the Apocalypse have allot more power being the media darlings they are forced her hand.
The 2020 Democrat Candidates for President. To call them a "Clown Car" would be to easy at this point, you have to start thinking "Train Wreck". It has become so bad that we have late entries like Duval Patrick who went to Atlanta to hold a Town Hall like meeting during the last debate only to cancel because only two people showed up. You also have Bloomberg making noises, but the best part is the fact that we might have a brokered convention and the Wicked Witch of Socialism Hillary "Your a dead man" Clinton has a decent chance of sneaking in and we have a do over of 2016.
Pelosi went along with Impeachment because in the deep crevices of her dark heart, she knows that Trump will win reelection and if the Dems impeach over zero substance it will tilt the table even more in Trump's favor and with the possibility of even larger defeat in BOTH Houses.
We will see how much power she has left. If she allows for an Impeachment Vote and it fails because scared Democrats bail out, or worse she wins and a few.Dems bow out and it goes to the Senate for trial and over half the candidates are in the Senate being occupied with that instead of campaigning.
What a wonderful mess Nancy is in. Not to mention I heard she stepped outside of her place in San Francisco and stepped in human excrement.

Well written, I think Nutter Nancy wants to hang the blame for the 2020 landslide on the radical Dims and maybe keep as much of her power as possible.
Nancy's done but she can't really face that until the 2020 Trump train runs over her drunk ass.

And if things totally implode for the Dems she can say "I told you so." And knock the Four Horsefaces of the Apocalypse down a few pegs.
