My prediction regarding China is their cost-saving advantages get nullified by automation. Because there's no other way to compete with them and their low-wage fire-at-will economy. But with automation, their labor cost advantage is nullified and it no longer matters where you build stuff so long as you're not polluting everything in sight (and that's another thing: the Chinese pollute everything, with cancer villages and all that shit).

Also, all this automation business has a massive downside: automation is essentially firmware and software, and guess that the Chinese are particularly good at stealing? Yep that's right, they love stealing IP. So some better protections in this area are necessary.
