I might get flack for this, but sometimes I think the OLD OLD system of only letting landed people vote was a good idea.
Sure, it was a system that kept wealthy families in power, but it also ensured that only educated, respectable, 'normal' people could vote.
Maybe today we could have it to where you can vote only if (besides being a citizen) you own land or own a house or something like that. Something that shows you are somewhat responsible and can make good decisions.
Sure, there are plenty of loony lefties who own a house, but it would cut out a lot of very young, idealistic kids, and those full-grown men and women in their 40s, still living in mommy's house, carrying protest signs around because of feelings.
