I wouldn't be opposed to some sort of monetization, just to pay for the operating expenses. But, I wouldn't want them to use an ad network. I block those, because they are a known vector for malware.

Reddit uses 10x as much memory and churns the cpu even when your'e doing nothing. Amazing how awful web sites have become in 2019.
