All the chatter leading into the holiday about fucking with your lefty relatives made me appreciate my family even more. No bullshit at our feast. We reminisced about my grandfather, the patriarch of this little Hudson Valley NY Irish clan, and how he was the one that instilled solid conservative values in all of us. Dad told a story about how he once said, "I'm proud that I've gone and voted for every single person that has never won an election" He was 1st generation Brooklyn Irish, and the thought of looking towards government for a handout would turn his stomach.
