II wonder whether we could possibly sweep Congress clean by giving them a pay raise.

If they make really good money (because 130,000 isn't enough to keep their family homes in their home states and have an apartment in DC), perhaps we could be competitive employers for real people.
With the raise (500,000 or more?) comes the most stringent financial rules and anti-lobbying rules.
MAYBE IF WE OFFER A DECENT, COMPETITIVE SALARY, WE CAN GET RID OF THE CROOKS AND MILLIONAIRES AND HAVE SOME REGULAR, GOOD AMERICANS SERVE THEIR COUNTRY.
It sure beats losing billions of tax dollars to these clowns.
