Oh boy, this subject has been a sore spot for me since the 90's. Imagine voting for a person and having them do everything for themselves and near nothing for you, his/her boss. These people steal our money, lie to us, and make damn fools of us on a daily basis. In my life time, the only persons in public office who have been honest are Ronald Reagan and Donald Trump. Of course we all know that 400 grand isn't going to break the Trumps, but it's the thought. It reminds me of a scene from Band of Brothers where Captain Winters tells the new Lt who was playing craps with the men why it was wrong to do that. Winters says "never put yourself in a position where you can take from these men". Our President only wants the honor to give to the country that gave him so much.

If we the people really care about America, and what she stands for, we will give our President a veto proof Congress, in both Houses. If we think that things are getting done now, if we have control of the 3 branches, our President can bring this great country to the place she once was.

ps. Stop electing career politicians, they're only in it for the money, not us! ...KAG!

Agree 110%. The founders would have been appalled at the idea of career politicians. It wasn't supposed to be like this and it doesn't have to be.

Term. Limits.

We desperately need term limits. There are people on Alzheimer’s medication still holding office.

nah, it just needs to poll really well, like 60%+, and they'll be forced to adopt it.

Lame duck sessions for Congress sound pretty scary to me.

The idea was that serving in office was a way for successful men to give back to their communities. The problem is that successful people realized it was a perfect way to game the system. Fast forward a couple of generations of the aristocracy playing musical chairs with positions of power, and western society is collapsing.
