This is why you need to keep the uninsured motorist portion of your auto insurance maxed out.

This is why my insurance is so high, despite decades of good driving and accidents.

BTW. Same cause and effect for medical bills.

This is true. When I moved to California, my auto insurance rates tripled. When I called to find out why, they said it was because of the number of uninsured motorists in the region. Thankfully I no longer live there.

Can confirm. Rear ended at the end of a freeway offramp. Guy was uninsured and barely spoke English. He was like... do we have to call the cops? His car went under my truck. His engine compartment was totally crushed. He suggested we try to drive to some parking lot and deal with it. He tried to start his car and it made some terrible screeching and died. No way was I moving my vehicle. It was a huge impact like a bomb going off and stuff flying around the interior. Luckily a lot of the force was directed upwards. He tried telling the cops that he didn't hit us going that fast but his car was crushed up to the windshield and his airbags had gone off. Cop was like uh whatever dude.
