I can’t find any proof but I see a lot of comments claiming Drudge sold the site silently i.e. with an agreement to not say anything as the new owners try to milk the last bit of goodwill out of his brand
Allegedly hearsay is even better than actual evidence so...
Drudge was like, "I'd like to trade these conservatives for a liberal following please."
The right was like: "Go fuck yourself."
The left was like: "Aren't you that conservative guy, go fuck yourself."

This is also just hearsay, so whatever: Drudge changed advertisers. The new agency is associated with (owned by?) Disney. 'Nuff said (if true).
