It's not like I don't care anymore. I do, and when something really shaking happens I'll be all in it and doin the meme wars thing and all that. But lately it just seems like nothing's really happening, like not REALLY... it seems like it's all just a bunch of blowhards up in DC (House dems mostly) being blowhards like usual. What they're doing will have no effect except ill for them. It's too much of a circus for me to pay attention to. As far as the many justices we all want to see served to people, I still care a lot, but I just can't be "on it" every day cause it keeps dragging on and on and on. Corruption uncovered left and right but I don't really give a shit until something happens.
so... slightly rant, and slightly question, I guess.
On the TV, yes, because I'm getting older and their cacophony of lying voices seriously disrupt my tranquility. I can feel my heart start hammering inside my chest within moments. But on the web, no. I'm here TDwin in the humble hope that you young pedes'll spare me, run interference, and post the good stuff so that I can maintain some modicum of spiritual creaminess as we head into the Christmas season.
So, for you kids who aren't aware of it: you're doing an amazing deed of kindness with these posts, and I'm truly grateful. Thank you all.
>But lately it just seems like nothing's really happening
Keep in mind:
Justice was impossible in 2017 when people like Comey, McCabe, Strzok and Page were in positions of power within the FBI. These people needed to be removed, which is incredibly difficult task to remove Federal employees...
...and then the Mueller investigation started. I suspect the Mueller scope document was classified was to ensure every FBI investigation needed Mueller's permission to proceed. This is done to ensure smaller investigations don't undermine larger investigations, however in this case I suspect Mueller's job was protecting the deep state and help the statute of limitations expire on as many deep state crimes as possible. No justice was viable until the Mueller investigation was concluded in April 2019...
...which means the FBI has only been semi-viable and had access to evidence for less than seven months... which is why we are now starting to see a series of IG reports being released.
I know it's been agonizing, however this was never going to be easy.
We'll know shortly if our justice system can be salvaged. I pray this it can because the alternative is civil war.
Well said and the war is more important than the battles. We were losing the war, we have started winning battles. It will take years.
It's hard to focus on when nothing is really happening. Democrats are just over there having the grandest do nothing circlejerk
Yes me too.
I used to have the news on all the time for background noise. Now I just turn it off.
A Democrat ends up on and immediately I am annoyed by their utter bullshit I shut the tv right off. I refuse to listen to them anymore they have abused me so much I am so over attempting to understand them.
I only watch Tee Vee for the local weather. Scour the net for real news.
I use the weather radar for that.
That might be the idea in the vast stupidity of the Dims. Lie so much, for so long and at such screeching volume that truth becomes lost in the tidal wave of bullshit.
I don't listen or watch any new anymore. I check here and sometimes the main pages of the bigger news sites just to see what they are saying, I rarely read their articles.
I have no faith anything real will come from anything the dems or republicans are saying. Trump has too many enemies in every department for anything real to ever happen. He also keeps hiring more and more.
Why are all these traitors in DOJ, FBI and CIA still employed? Fire them and move on.
Don't ever sign a continuing resolution again, you know, like he said after the first one 3 years ago. AND STOP PAYING BACK PAY SO THERE IS NO REAL CONSEQUENCE.
Just somethings that are pissing me off and have for at least a year. Until they change, we won't see anything actually happen. I am not a concern troll, I'm being honest about the situation.
I haven’t watched the news at all, for about the same time period. I figure if anything ever “happens” (you all know why it’s in quotes) then I will see the announcements here, on TD.
Honestly, only keeping an eye on anything that gets reported about Barr and Durham...and patiently waiting for FISA on Dec. 9th.
This is exactly what they want.
COMPLACENCY
Not being plugged in 24/7 while nothing is progressing isn't exactly "complacency." What exactly have I been missing in the past month that's so important?
I need to make sure I don’t stay so tuned in that it affects me negatively. There are a lot of wonderful things in the world too! So I do tend to tune-out of the political stuff and focus on my family, my job and all my blessings. I had a conversation with a liberal minded friend the other day, and it was a good talk! She’s really been angered by our President but in our discussion she was more neutral than I’ve ever heard her. She’s my friend! And we share a respect and love of each other. I’m not giving up her friendship over politics and she sure isn’t either. So there’s a lot more that unites us than divides us, and I mean as a country, but it starts on the individual level. So I try and focus on that love, respect, and gratitude and feel like it’s my small way of putting something good out into the world. I support our President but do often tune out from the day to day barrage of indignant news articles. It’s exhausting and it makes me feel more negative than I want to be. So I find my happy place in some love and joy, knowing he’s got my vote come next November ?
The "impeachment" "process" is obviously unfair. We get that, loud and clear. The only part worth watching is the cross-examination by the Repubs. The rest of it is a Stalinist show trial, based on hearsay and hurt fee-fees.
Without the due process safeguards of truth, it's all chaff, and unsatisfying.
