I used to think this too, but it is politically very hard and would likely cause more issues than it solves. Instead the border should be locked down and we leave the Mexicans to their own mess, it never goes well when the west interfere, we just get the blame for everything that was already happening.
I would send cruise missiles and later some navy seals to finish them off. After that i would send heavy machinery to bury everything and would build us bases, later i would establish buffer zone with kill gang members on-sight regime. But it's just me I like winning
