I'm really confused by this angle. This shit sounds like a psyop. Revisionist history. How is revealing the NSA surveillance state not a whistle blower? Bots on this already?

Don't be confused. It is a psyop and revisionism. The guy worked for the NSA and nothing indicates that he tried to sell the Intel. He tried to give it to a neutral 3rd party, which was Wikileaks. Obama tried to pressure anyone and everyone he tried to seek asylum with in order to 'get him', not protect him.

The reason that they're trying to frame this distinction now is to help that idiot Ciaramella since, the biggest criticism of his label of 'whistleblower' is that he didn't actually blow any whistles--he spied on Trump at the behest of Brennan & the CIA; he went straight to the most heavily-invested 3rd party imaginable--Schiff; and, the Dems are doing everything, including trampling 1st amendment rights, to protect him.

They're attempting to besmirch Snowden's actions by claiming his intel was up for sale, and he was shopping it around, which would've made him a mercenary traitor, not a legitimate whistleblower. The problem here, is that these morons would've been better served by not reminding the world about Snowden.

Totally agree. This sort of thing kind of crossed my mind. There's also a rumor (infowars) that there's an effort to get Assange extradited to the US so that he can be pardoned by Trump, and I'm betting that framing Snowden as a spy will help them keep Assange from being pardoned. They want to call non-whistleblowers spies and the spies the whistleblowers. Same ol' shit.

Ah! Excellent point regarding Assange!! I hadn't thought of that angle. This is why I love you pedes and I treasure this site: I'm surrounded by rightwing intellects, rather than than screeching leftist savages. Thank you.

The way I understand it is... CIA is objectively corrupt, NSA not so much... NSA was working on surveillance tools which would/could have indirectly picked up CIA corrupt operations ... Snowden worked for CIA for years and was trained as a spy (in his own words). Again, the CIA has a history of proven corruption, and then Snowden moves to the NSA? as a contractor? Shortly afterward he gains a conscious and leaks NSA surveillance tools that directly help/protect the CIA?

Sounds like a spy operation that was performed by a trained spy, what do you think?
