The USS Liberty is often brought up as an excuse to criticize Israel. I’m not saying there are no legitimate reasons to criticize them, but this is not one. Both Israel and the official US position agree that the Liberty was mistaken for an enemy Egyptian war ship. It was cruising in an active war zone during a hot war with 3 Arab countries over 50 years ago. I know there are some conspiracy theories out there for other explanations, but to use this as an example of a valid criticism is really reaching.

Fair point. IMO I'm not very anti-Israel at all, its just a facet of geopolitics that finds itself in its own tangled web of interconnected circumstances. Sometimes, I like to play devil's advocate to see if I can see the other side within reason. "USS Liberty" isnt the best argument, nor is the fact that they haven't signed the Nuclear Non-proliferation Treaty. Sometimes I can try, fail, and learn.
