That said, there's no iron-clad musical agreement in all of music, let alone rock.
(Some people love Bach, some don't and adore Beethoven instead. My dad was one of the latter. I can't stand a lot of Beethoven because no detectable rhythm and lots of long boring pauses. Bach has interesting counterpoint and complexity, plus a beat that a person can enjoy tapping their foot to, even if they weren't a university music major. So has a lot of Mozart. It's about personal taste.)
For example, there are many, many people I'd rather listen to than Jimi Hendrix and the Beatles. Yet they will forever (as in always) hold the top spot as the consensus greatest, most influential guitarist and pop group in music history. Do they suck? Far from it. Just personal preference.
