I agree with you. Seems like the hatred of Trump supporters is getting amped up even more lately. Unfortunately we're don't have a weapon. We live in CA and to be honest we haven't tried. My husband is ex USAF Military police. But I've been on anti depressants for 20 years. He's been thinking we couldn't get a weapon because of my mental health background

Even if you never end up armed at least stock up on pepper spray and have some kind of baton or baseball bat around, just in case.

A good alternative that booers use in SA are paintball guns with pepper ammo. All these things are good if there is civil unrest and people start stealing left and right. Not nearly as good as a gun, but still a huge advantage

OC spray is better than pepper spray.

If you were going to do yourself harm or commit suicide you would have done it by now. Besides, women rarely use a firearm. If it's a concern just have him lock it up. Might come in handy some day. Kinda like a one time payment on a lifetime insurance policy.

Get yourself a solid slingshot and use bulk steel ball bearings (~100/$15 depending on the size). Anyone that gets hit with a 1" steel ball from something that has a decent draw weight is not coming back for seconds and, if a headshot didn't kill or incapacitate, is definitely on their way to the hospital.

I'm not knocking a slingshot one bit. It is definitely a lethal weapon. I keep one in my survival kit and have used it to kill squirrels But if I find myself in a exchange of steel with a 2 legged predator I prefer 1000+ fps from a semiautomatic.

I was speaking to Mimi's situation of possibly not being able to buy a firearm... or anyone else who can't for that matter. Unless you want to cobble together a zip gun or spend a lot of money on archery, slingshot's going to be the cheapest, easiest alternative.

Seems as if many have forgotten about slingshots or see them as just critter killers, instead of a more-than-adequate alternative for self-defense... but obviously not if you're up against a gun.
