First AR I fired was early 70s, they were not adequate weapons then. Last one I personally had was not much better really, early 90s. But those were .223/5.56 rifles, not today's family of rifles. A good AR in .308 would tickle me pink but I don't need it. And I think a short-barreled AR in .300blk with a good muffler ought to be the perfect home defense setup, but stamps and shiite.
Every honest taxpaying Citizen of legal age and in good standing with the Community ought to have an AR or three if they desire to do so, yep.
