I’m glad somebody said this. Zimmerman is a fool who has no business doing security work. Yes it was a fake narrative by the media but he had no reason to shoot first and ask questions later. Then he did it again if memory serves me.

St martin of skittles had no business trying to smash Zimmerman's head open on the sidewalk

Now we have to put with the "poor little Trevon" bull shit from raciest blacks and liberals

Zimmerman did not shoot first. He was had been knocked to the ground, and Martin was pounding his head into the sidewalk.

I understand that was his testimony but his injuries were not indicative of the severity of the situation he described. No laceration and one bruise caused by a kid 2/3 his weight and stature. Security guards get hit all the time. It’s the nature of the job. Look, I get - it was wildly controversial and there are so many things wrong with how Zim approached the incident. At the top of that list forgetting he was neighbor watch not neighborhood apprehender of suspicious persons. I come at this from an LE professional perspective in my college days who trained neighborhood watch volunteers. In my view, his actions were reckless and his actions caused a stupid kid his life.

Pictures are widely available of Zimmerman's injuries:

https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/2/2f/George_Zimmerman_back_of_head.jpg

Zimmerman's height was shown as 5 feet 8 inches (1.73 m) and his weight at 200 lb (91 kg) on the Sanford Police Department Offense Report for February 26, 2012, the night of the shooting.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shooting_of_Trayvon_Martin#George_Zimmerman

Martin was 5"11 and 158 lbs:

Look, I get - it was wildly controversial and there are so many things wrong with how Zim approached the incident. At the top of that list forgetting he was neighbor watch not neighborhood apprehender of suspicious persons.

Per court testimony (by the dispatcher), Zimmerman called 911. When the dispatcher repeatedly asked Zimmerman where Martin had gone, he interpreted that as a request to follow Martin.

When the dispatcher realized this, he told Zimmerman "we don't need you to do that". Zimmerman said OK, hung up and was returning to his truck when he was attacked by Martin, who had doubled back to do so.

It was only "wildly controversial" because the Misleadia repeatedly lied about it. And when the actual contrary facts came out in the trial, it was largely ignored.

The violent thug jumped him and started slamming his head into the pavement and you being the good guy that you claim to be wants to fault the victim.

Glad you are not a cop anymore.

Incorrect on the shooting. He didn't shoot first, you make it sound like he walked up and capped the kid for walking in the neighborhood.

Here is what was said in court about what happened. Zimmerman was found innocent of the charges against him.

"He jumped out from the bushes and said what the f**k is your problem," Zimmerman said to Singleton. "I said I don't have a problem and then he punched me in the nose."

"As soon as he punched me I fell backwards. He was whaling on my head and I started yelling help," said Zimmerman. "He grabbed my head and started hitting me into the sidewalk. I slid into the grass to get out from under him. I was still yelling out for help."

Zimmerman said Martin told him, "You are going to die tonight" and kept banging his head into the sidewalk, and that he shot and killed the teen soon after.

In order to be justified in the use of lethal force, there are some thing to consider. Ability, opportunity, jeopardy and preclusion. I'm not going to expand on those, you can google those words together and you'll see articles discussing the justified use of lethal force. Zimmerman met those standards. Trayvon as best we know said he was going to kill zimmerman, he attacked zimmerman, he got him pinned to the ground and was slamming his head. That set of events makes it justified for zimmerman to defend his life against Trayvons attempt of lethal force usage on Zimmerman. Trayvon initiated the use of lethal force while pinning zimmerman to the ground, or at a minimum, making it difficult for zimmerman to choose an alternate or less lethal course of action.

The Jury agreed with that assessment.

A stand up fight generally is not a deadly force incident that would justify the use of a firearm.. . .generally.

When someone is on the ground, and their escape or deescalation is prevented and someone is "ground and pounding" them, that is hitting or slamming them in a fasion where the impact is braced against something that doesnt move, that action can be considered deadly force. You can kick a person and it is probably non lethal, you can punch a person and its probably non lethal, but put their head on the ground and punch their head while their pressed up against a concrete floor and now you have deadly force.

Trayvon initiated the use of deadly force, prevented the victim Zimmerman from having the ability to escape or deescalate and zimmerman rightly defended himself against trayvon by meeting trayvons unjustified use of deadly force by using his own judicious use of deadly force in his self defense.

GG End of story. So many people out there just see "one guy with a gun shot a poor dude without one."

Research, study, learn, get facts, get educated, be smart.

Zimmerman is a bum too. Zero class selling the weapon at auction and now suing the parents after he killed the kid.

I can't imagine anyone with real self respect thinking that's the way to go after offing someone whether it was necessary or not.

Zimmerman is suing the parents for lying about him. They have continued to libel him repeatedly, making claims that are verifiably false to enrich themselves.

But, the real motivation is the revelation that the parents were knowing participants in a scheme to substitute a witness against him. If the allegations are true, the "girlfriend" who testified against Zimmerman during the trial was not the actual person on the call with Martin just before the attack.

The evidence is pretty compelling that it was actually the half-sister of Rachael Jeantel.
