It was a good strategy making him the Republican's expert, specifically because it cuts off the "oh, ignore him, he's just a trump sycophant" attack that was inevitable.

Republicans in the House are learning to play 2 steps ahead of the media, because they know full well by now that they need to. I hope that more Senate Republicans learn to do the same sooner or later.

The Dems set it up such that they could claim consensus and the Republicans couldn't, but this guy delivered more solo than the other 3 did combined.

Wow. It’s like they didn’t pre-brief him on what he was supposed to say on the stand. Edit: could this testimony give the house dems a “way out”? About setting the precedent, etc. Just food for thought.

He's a professor - they can often be a bit... different.

Academics is about finding truth - politics is all about modifying the truth to your benefit.

Academics and politics are usually one and the same.

SLOP_QUEEF 3 points ago +3 / -0

"politics is all about modifying the truth to your benefit."

Only if professors do this. I did not have any professors who made shit up to get their ideologies ingrained into my head. I just had no-bullshit hard as fuck classes that I barely passed.

Long-marched academia is toxic.

Turley is solid, but he agreees with the Dems bringing the Presidents private counsels to court, forcing them to betray executive and client privilege.

This Obama appointed judge keeps getting Trumps White houses cases it’s the 3rd time this bitch rules against him http://magaimg.net/img/9w9l.jpg

My understanding is that Judge Jackson only ruled that McGhan has to appear before the House committee in order to asset privilege - not whether he can exert privilege at all.

So it plays out like this: McGhan appears before the committee, the committee asks a question, McGhan responds "I decline to answer your question as a matter of executive privilege."

McGhan has then complied with Judge Jackson's ruling and the ball is in the committee's court to go to court to litigate whether McGhan's assertion of privilege is proper.

Which they aren't willing to do.

They don't give a shit about the rule of law or abuse of power.

Turley is no friend of Trumps. He publicly states he didn't vote for him and isn't a fan. He's helped other investigations in to Trump, and makes it clear he didn't approve of the "perfect" call.

Even he can see clearly how much of a biased crock of shit and abuse of power this "investigation" is, and that distorting all the facts based on your own bias and assumptions to make them "impeachable" is dangerously imbecilic.

I pledge to read the US Constitution this week and make notes in the border. https://www.usconstitution.cc/

I just read the Declaration of Independence. I wish I had made notes in the border. https://www.archives.gov/founding-docs/declaration-transcript

I watched the longer clip of Turley’s testimony. It will really resonate with the public. The Trump War Room should blast it out on all social media platforms. The Dems have gone full Commie with this bullshit impeachment. Never give a Democrat the benefit of the doubt, not even at the city council level. OUT, OUT, OUT!

Curious if the people in the "audience" are paid to be there. Anti-Trump speakers get undivided attention, but pro-Trump speakers get everyone turned away, not listening, which gives an instinctual cue to the viewer that this person's words have no value.
