I watched this quasi-documentary when it was first aired and, at the time, we took it seriously because the media didn't have its unsavory penchant for wholesale lying and fakery that it does now. And also, scientific research wasn't corrupted by political correctness and agenda-mongering, since it was still the depths of the Cold War, and science had to maintain cutting edge, seriousness of purpose.
But, after the Nuclear Winter came the Population Bomb, Ozone Hole, El Nino Desertification, the Great Bee Extinction, Pacific Plastics Raft, etc, etc., we got wise to the boy who cried wolf. Some of us figured out, decades ago, that this phenomenon is more related to 'apocalypse cultism' than actual fact.
I'd heard about this before, but watching it seems like a bizzaro-world version of now. Like it even sounds like they ran the same tests and got opposite results.
"YOU STOLE MY LIFE!" While fingering herself to thoughts of Al Gore and Bill Nye, dreaming of up standing in front of huge adoring crowds and going home to whichever oceanfront mansion is the closest.

Fear mongering sells papers, and gets viewers
