It's crap. I'm now searching for a new service that's faster and less annoying. The free version doesn't do nearly as m uch as gmail

One HUGE issue with protonmail.com is that you cannot search the contents of your emails, you can ONLY search the subject line. They have a technical reason that doesn't make sense to me, because I am a programmer and know their reason is not true (not a real technical limitation). So this business decision is stupid and I'm leaving when I find something better

i guess my point is it's good enough for now, if you don't need your contacts app (only stores emails, not phone) or searching email message text

A ProtonMail subscription lets you access your e-mail via a locally installed mail client, such as Outlook or Thunderbird. It involves installing a separate program called ProtonMail Bridge which handles communication between their server and the client software, taking care of all the encrypting and decrypting.
