Why the fuck would anyone be opposed to GOLD coming ino the country?

It's not like metals like uranium, which can be used to fuck people up, its structurally useless, too soft, and isn't deadly per se, it's the benchmark for monetary value, and has been for literally thousands of years right above silver.
