“Yesterday, December 7, 1941 — a date which will live in infamy — the United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan.”

– Franklin D. Roosevelt on the morning after the Pearl Harbor attack.

Our decision to make them strong after kicking their ass was wise:

  1. Their current strength and proximity to China.

  2. They invented Transformers.

'Never forget' is what we hope for, to remain vigilant, but this must be continuously renewed.

And nukes were not all that much worse than firebombing a city. Before nukes the air force was quite capable of leveling a large area, it just took a lot more than a single plane.

And not as bad a fukishima, Nagasaki & Hiroshima have recoverd & repopulated.

It saved untold number of lives, The Japanese at the time would have fought to the last man, woman & child.

Not only do we have to remember this day, the context must be told. Little has changed, there's very few places in the world that have regard for human life & the individual.

my Grandparents Govt, FDR to be precise. America was considered too isolationist at the time, no direct proof he knew, that I am aware of, but the case has been made.

It is one more reason Congress passed the 22nd ammendment -Limiting the President to two Terms.
