Agreed. There are good cops and even great cops but that doesn't mean that civilians shouldn't have the checks and balances in place to keep them in line with the will of the people. If we can just trust thew to do the right thing then why have laws at all? Just trust civilians to do the right thing then unless police and superior to civilians in some way. I get along well with local LEO really well but I know that if I piss one off then they can basically ruin my life. Judges fall into that category too. Any cop that has written a seatbelt ticket for a lone adult has no credibility IMHO, an example of absurd government overreach.
