Last summer, Drudge Report changed to a new advertising company. The new company was unknown in the business. The new company (Granite Cubed) is owned by Margaret and Adrian Otto. Adrian Otto is a technical director at Google Cloud. Two years ago, the Ottos acquired RefDesk, a website created by Matt Drudge's father.
Since the Drudge Report's ownership is private, there's no way to know if it actually changed hands. But several people noted yesterday that the Drudge Report Twitter account changed it's description to the past tense.
