What you are feeling, my friend, is exactly the same disgust and anger those on the left have for you. The difference is the slight perpetrated against you and other members of this community is very real while any transgressions the left seethes over are imagined or extremely exaggerated. But the process to which both sides came to the end result is the same - you are exposed to information that steadily erodes your trust in your governing authorities and fellow countrymen, bit by bit, until you reach a boiling point and feel there is no going back.

The difference, however, between us and the left is we recognize it as hatred, and it scares us because it goes against the principle that this country and its people are a force of good working to do good. Those on the left, on the other hand, don't even acknowledge their hatred, but twist it around in their perverted perception that it is, instead, a reasonable response to the "evil" they've conjured us to be.

You may feel hatred, but you don't want to, as you've admitted in your posts. But it's merely a defense mechanism to contradict the fear you have inside, which is the true catalyst behind your current emotional state. I can relate because counting down to election night I was downright fearful of a Hillary Clinton presidency and the thought of another Civil War and having to defend my family from my own neighbors. But that fear presented itself outwardly as hatred, as it was the only way my mind and body could cope with the possibility of having to take up arms against fellow Americans.

I think it's funny how outsiders misinterpret our interactions here as wanton calls for violence (i.e. "1776 shall commence again") but what I really believe we are witnessing in these instances, instead, is the terrible dread we feel inside of having to maybe go to those extremes as the only resolution to the political woes that have befallen our country.

I am writing this, hopefully, to help you understand what you are dealing with. I know it took a dark turn with the doom and gloom talk, but we must accept that our security and happiness is always at stake, no matter how relatively safe we feel, and you must remain vigilant. I believe the Trump movement and his followers are experiencing this terrible awakening en masse. We can no longer be placated and culled by the false assurances that what we are witnessing is "business as usual " and it will have no effect on us. On the contrary, you and many others have simply become aware of your surroundings and are coping as best as you can to your new reality, all the while refusing to accept the prevailing conditions.

Focus on the positives, absolutely, but don't dull your senses, either.
